What do you plan to do when you retire.

My neighbour is retired. Tells me he’s bored to death. He runs, gardens, cleaned all his windows, removed all the sand between his interlock pavers and resanded them. Washes out his garage floor a couple of times a month. Poor guy is running out of things to do. He’s tried taking part time jobs, car jockey at a dealership. Customer service at an airline.

Poor bastard. I should introduce him to TERB and pooning. Lol

Yup. Some of my friends are retired and that's great for them. But I would be so bored.
I like to keep fit but you can only do that a couple of hours a day. I have no interest in taking up woodworking or a hobby like that.
I have my own business and it's totally flexible. I intend to keep working for the next few years and we'll see after that. Maybe reduce my business to part time.
To each their own!

Wandering the desolate wastelands, clawing out a mere existence.
Anyone born after 2000 won’t be a problem.

I work full time and have a side business. I hope when I retire from my full time job, my side business will become more of a hobby where i make some money and use it for travel.

That's the ticket, my retirement has just begun. Once the brutal heat dies down and the kiddies are back in school, I'm going to do what Gino A'Campo does. Drive around Italy bustin balls.

Oh La La, Bon Petit!

WTF Fred, a Frenchie should know better than to put blue cheese on oysters...haiyah.

I believe you mean Gino D'Acampo.
Whose balls are you planning to bust?
Personally, I will have more pleasure eating like a pig. And fuckin, gorgeous Italian hookers who don't speak a word of English.
Then head down to the Amalfi Coast to do more of the same. But will substitute English tourist lassies for the Italians.
It's all good 👍.

The Amalfi coast is too much of a tourist crush for me, I'm planning a hike up to Mt Vesuvius. After that I'm going to Italy's Algonquin Park: Gargano.

Then it's off to Isola Tremiti on the Adriatic...next stop Greece.

I found Greece okay 👍 only.
Athens was easy to set-up dates.
But Santorini and Mykonos were boring.
Until the 2nd last day when an ultra-slut from NYC boarded the tour bus.
Croatia I am looking forward to seeing.

When I stop doing full time work, I can trade on the market full or part time at my leisure. If I get bored, I can always find a U-man to out trade and run circles around him and kick his ass every time I orbit him.

Never been to Greece. Looks like they need some trees though.

Retire? Unless you have to, why?

I know a lot of people say they want to work less, like 3 or 4 days a week instead of 5. Problem is that in most cases, you still end up having to work 5, or cramming 5 days of work into 4, etc.

My perfect world would be to work 8 months a year full time and then a 4 month sabbatical, then back to work for another 8 months. That way, you get a really nice window off, but you maintain some income and you keep alert.

Banging physics girls at undergraduate level? They are nowhere
nearly as good looking as those in biological sciences in general.

Consulting. 4-6 month contracts. Especially start ups looking for older workers to teach the ypung ones about the back end finances, corporate infrastructure, how to do proposals for contracts etc. Do them during the time you don't want off. Some in winter then off for cottage season. Or work summer then off to snowbird.

For me retiring was easy. Why? Because I was able to after working hard and investing so I could! And now I can do what I want, when I want and enjoying every minute of it. On very rare occasions I miss work but that only lasts for about a second or 2.

You spend 40+ hours a week at work, plus extra transit time. Get home, sleep eat, shit, family duties, decompressing etc, a lot of people don't develop lives outside and end up on park benches feeding the pigeons.

Fuck that shit. Life is too short for the grind. If you find a wonderful job, porn star, punching Justin Beiber in the face etc sure... but otherwise work is a curse. There is way too much better shit to do outside of work.

Unless you got OCD there isn't much that would still be good doing for 40+ hours a week for decades, aside from banging hot chicks and punching Justin Beiber in the face.

It is a sad thing if you can't enjoy not working much as it is working a job that isn't as good as the other options.
