This is a big topic right now with all the hate towards pride clothing in Target

But what about children’s clothing overall.

Have you ever noticed that a tank top for a 3 year old boy as a wide band at the shoulders but a 3 year old girls tank top has a spaghetti straps. Spaghetti straps that will get her in trouble in high school for wearing the exact same thing. Just saying.

Boys shorts go down to their knees, girls shorts go to the bottom of their little butt cheeks.

So we’re is child grooming happening? We are teaching little girls to wear sexualizing clothing from a toddlers age. Why do girls clothing need to made in such way???? Are we not setting women up for disaster?

As men with daughters - how do you feel about how the fashion world grooms your child into wearing sexualized clothing at such a young age?

Do any of you see a problem with this? Do you think this is also grooming children? Have you just never thought about? Opinions? Should these clothes be ok but pride supportive clothes not ok?

We're not setting women for disaster....the disaster has arrived....in the form of men dressing up as women and has taken a lot from women....in a short period of time....

And since you edited, I think the influencer is right and I have seen the video of them condemning the parade events. That in my opinion is a policing issue. I think the police need to use the laws we have but there is also the nude bike ride in Toronto every year that basically has all cis-gendered heterosexual people attending so again - another policing issue. In my opinion.

they're part of it...it's progress...isn't it? we're in 2023...grooming kids to be traditional is out...10 year olds can decide if they need puberty blockers....what's stopping from making provocative clothes for the much younger ones?

I have a daughter who went to private school from a young age (3 yrs) and the uniform requirements are just stupid if you ask me. I don't think there is nothing more sexualized in our society than the "school girl" thing.

At a young age, she had to wear a skort (sp) and then when she got into the older grades, it was a kilt, which the girls all wore way too short. All the while, the boys wore pants.

The girls were not given the choice of pants as far as I can remember.

You know - I have pics of me at 3years old wearing spaghetti strap shirt, and short shorts. Provocative clothing for little girls has been a thing for decades now. That is cis-gendered, most men, making these fashion choices for little girls.

I went to catholic high school. We were allowed to wear pants but only 2 days a week. We held a protest one winter. Well the seniors did, us juniors just went along for fun. Protest didn’t do anything but have the admin staff simply tell us if we are cold with kilts in the winter - wear warmer tights.

Oh and freshmen girls wear told to wear shorts under their kilts so that boys couldn’t look up your kilt when you went up the stairs. There was never any mention to the freshmen boys not to try and look up girls kilts though.

They did have a mini sister brand for younger girls. I don’t know if it is still around though. Basically training bras and frilly little panties with bows and stuff. Nothing sinister.

I still don’t think you have addressed the issue of little girls clothing though. You seem to keep deflecting. Is there a reason for that?

Where was the deflection? I answered your statement "are we setting women up for disaster"....i answered not setting up..the disaster are already here...the feminist movement have fought long and hard to have women's rights...
There are too many factors to point out why there are "spaghetti strapped shirts" in stores....TV, celebrities, surroundings etc etc.... who bought you the spaghetti strapped kids that you wore when you were 3?

I mentioned my daughter earlier with regards to private school attire but we had no choice there if you wanted to send her to private school. Aside from that requirement, a parent ultimately decides what the little girl wears to public school.

Yes, some clothing may be considered provocative but, at the end of the day, mom or dad decide what the 3 year old wears.

Then it becomes a matter of the parent not wanting their child to be the 'uncool' one so they conform with what the other girls wear. As a parent, its tough to balance the two given how society is today and the pressures of social media, which itself, is a big contributor to the problem.

I do agree that parents make the choice. I personally would not put my daughter in a bikini for example.

I will admit - I don’t know exactly what is available in the little girls section. I’m heading out now to Ottawa. I got to stop at Walmart and I will take a quick look. If the only options available are all sexualized items or if there is a balance of items or if there are more appropriate items. I will report back.

Holding Drag Queen-led and oriented sessions/shows in public libraries and elementary schools under the guise of diversity is absolutely 100% grooming of children, and is likely much more of a negative grooming concern than the clothes parents have been buying at Sears, Walmart and Target for the last 100+ years

I don’t have a daughter; however, my thoughts are the same on the matter of how little girls are dressed. The feeling that comes to mind is « icky ». There is no reason that a young girl should be wearing frilly tank tops and short shorts.What I find creepier is when makeup is worn.

I love seeing women in sexy clothing. It is gross to apply that same type of clothing to a child. Having a girl dress in skimpy clothing is grooming in my mind.

It's a choice...you can go to Walmart, H&M there's probably a section with spaghetti strap shirts but i doubt that's all they sell...now who's making these shirts? we don't know, why are they making it? well...for summer whether i think it's ideal...sure it may catch the eyes of pedos in the vicinity but i doubt that's what the designers were aiming for...

I agree on the point about hosting drag shows with children in attendance. The latest thing about school teachers not telling parents about the change children’s pronouns and names is a big issue. It is no different than the guy in the ice cream truck telling children to step in his van - while creepy music is playing - and saying let’s share a secret from your parents……
