Most individuals get more back from the carbon tax through the direct transfer/rebate aka the Climate Action Incentive Payment.Of course. He blames everything on climate change. How else is he going to justify continually increasing the carbon tax, taking more money out of your pocket and making everything you buy more expensive. All in the name of climate change.
"We’ll keep working – here at home and with partners around the world – to tackle climate change and address its impacts," he said on Twitter. What a load of crap. Is he working with India and China to get them to reduce their GHG emissions? Not a freakin' chance they're going to listen to anything he says. He's a joke!
It's the big polluters that foot the carbon tax.
The way the carbon tax works is two-fold. First, the carbon tax is revenue neutral so all the funds raised by the tax are either given back to individuals through the CAIP, or the funds are used in various initiatives to get us to net-zero.
Second, the carbon tax raises the prices of goods/services that have a larger carbon footprint which helps to change consumer behaviour to purchase alternatives that are have a smaller carbon footprint.
I'm by no means a fan of the Liberals but the carbon tax is a pretty solid policy.
