I remember when the classical idea of a beggar was someone down on their luck, sitting homeless on the streets, begging for a scrap of change.
So...does anyone else find it strange when SPs are begging for goodies on twitter? "I chipped my nail polish, won't someone pay for a manicure?" complete with pleading face. Or, "I'm in love with these shoes, someone buy them for me ASAP!"
Relative to the general population, SPs tend to be well off. So I'm really just bemused by the behavior. For the record, there's only some SPs who do this, but they also tend to be the well known ones, which makes it even more bizarre.
I imagine it's because of the nature of the industry, where the client base tends to be very well off, and also older and therefore maybe more traditional about male/female roles, but I still find it a funny observation.
