It's because women are not taken as seriously in society. A woman hits a man, she's not really going to do any damage. It's taken lightly. A man hits a woman, it is taken verys seriously because many women have been battered since the man is stronger.

Nobody likes it when the strong prey on the weak. However, the weak attacking the stsrong is seen as amusing, light-hearted, acceptable, and even commendable in some cases. That's the way it is.

Personally, if I were 15 and a hot young teacher wanted to have sex with me, I woiuld oblige and cheris the great sex with her. The taboo part makes it hotter. I wouldn't feel that I was the victim, but that's just me, and I understand how the boys claimed they were the victims afterwards, but everyone is different.

and ill say it. girls in many places get away with murder. even in my workplace girls get away with far much more than guys do. there was a lady that yelled at a boss at one of my workplaces and she got away with it.

Most males would on this forum agree with you, but Women need to be held to the same legal standards that men are. If I was 'abused' by a female teacher in high school I wouldn't tell a soul, but women should not get off scot-free for the same crimes that men go to jail for. Yea this exactly how I picture the situation unfolding! Teens could never keep something like that a secret if they wanted to. I suspect most teenage boys would brag to their friends that they banged the hot teacher they were all lusting after. How much do you want to bet it was a jealous friend that exposed the situation and not the actual guy himself?

The whole Magic 21 year old Thing is ridiculous to me. When st Took civics and school we learned the age if consent was 12 Because of Quebec. It was raised to 16 and lowered to 14 . Then Harper Made it 16 and 18 depending.

Setting a minimum or maximum age for anything is somewhat problematical. Some people can drink responsibly at 14 and some can't drink responsibly at 40. A lot depends on individual differences, but rules are usually rigid and inflexible. Still there has to be some order to the law & order stuff..

Many places have some kind of "Romeo and Juliet" rule to address the issue of one age being magic.
The whole thing is always kind of a blunt tool (like at what age you can drink and so on).

The "position of trust and authority" approach that Canada uses is a good one, in that some relationships (Teacher student) have issues that are more than just the age situation.
