Cripes its changed from when I was dating. A simple dinner at a local bistro, reasonably priced was just fine. Girls just appreciated being taken out and were in it to actually have a date, to talk, laugh, maybe add some spontaneity after.
Now its a job interview from what my single friends tell me, Seinfeldian in myopic criticism, with constant judgment.
No thanks.
Exactly. That is more what I am used to. Maybe $100 or $150 tops for dinner, drinks and good conversation. I don't even mind the questions as long as they are not along the lines of monetary things, like car, home, investments. Any reference to crypto is an instant mood killer. I have ZERO interest in discussing money with someone I just met.
Somewhere along the line, appreciation turned to entitlement with far too many. I'd estimate 90% of profiles on true dating sites are either fake, or the woman has an angle - shopping, gifts, can you help me with x, a free expensive meal, links to wishlists or OnlyFans, etc. Sure, women will complain guys are cheap and/or only want one thing, but there are exceptions. I am not cheap, but expect to be treated with the same respect I provide. If sex happens, I'll go with it, but I never look for it on the first date.
It's a cesspool at times, hence I date less here.
