The only story that seems easy to dismiss is the Kremlin one - that it was an assassination attempt on Putin.
Outside of that, it could be a statement move by Ukraine to show they can reach Moscow or it could be a fake out by Putin to justify whatever he wants his next move to be.

I don't think anyone has shown enough evidence to make a convincing argument in either direction yet (and there are probably other options I haven't thought of).

Also no Russia can't flatten Ukraine, It's been lobbing everything they have at it to the point of running out of missiles and it has done jack shit, it could send over bombers to drop dumb bombs but they are easy targets which is why they are being used to lob missiles from far away going nowhere near Ukraine air space. Missiles are expensive as fuck, there is no way they could be used to flatten much of anything. Dumb bombs can but Russia doesn't have the 1000 bomber fleets to do the job. With modern tech, city busting just isn't worth it any more, back then, you couldn't hit shit so you had to target wide areas and hope for the best, we just don't have the capacity to lay on such a beating without nukes. I said clearly Putin is unable to achieve air superiority. And I once asked you what your qualifications were. But I've not attempted to claim expertise in order to win an argument. I pointed out you weren't an expert. That's all I did. If you can't handle that without constantly claiming I'm trying to "win" an argument, when I've presented no counter argument to it, go see a shrink.

I did not claim any expertise. I said I did not have any. You seemed to imply that I did not have any. Given that I did not dispute that, and infact admitted it, you were making an obvious point, that wasn't being disputed. Aka, you were being captain obvious. So there is really nothing there for me to be butt hurt about, but enough there to be annoyed about.

On the other hand, you did claim expertise because supposedly you were in the security and intelligence services, while at the same time constantly saying you havent presented an opinion, while it is quite clear that you infact have.

Wonder why there were people on the roof of the Kremlin when it happened.

This was the second drone strike, the first was 16 minutes earlier. The damage shown in the pictures I posted and the distant video of the roof of the Kremlin on fire was caused by the first strike.
The person recording the video was showing two firefighters climbing the roof to assess the damage from the first strike, just happened to be when the second drone detonated over the roof.

At 2:30 a.m. it wouldn't seem to be an assasination attempt as Putin has not been staying at the Kremlin overnight.
Ukraine has repeatedly denied any involvement in strikes in Russia or Belarus.

I wouldn't be surprised if the US had a hand in it. May be they are trying to goad Russia to react in a way that justifies more deadly support for Ukraine.

Or may be Russia did it themselves to do what they want to do - namely make the west nervous to arm Ukraine because is this supposed to be all defensive assistance?

Or may be someone else did it. Who knows.

I am simply attempting to give a different viewpoint to a culture (Canada) that has not experienced prolonged war fighting, other than in video games. People will believe what they want to believe. However, I will briefly describe my experience. I spent four years in Force Recon, which later became MARSOC. I spent another four years a regimental commander MARSOC. I then went to work for a company called Blackwater, which later became Triple Canopy. During all that time, I deployed to IRAQ 1 and Iraq 2 and then Afghanistan For a total of 52 combat deployments with almost 72 months in war zones. I currently know several operators in Ukraine. Now call me names and say BS, it will make you feel better
