But I heard that if you have not served in the military then you can't know anything. I wonder where I heard that from.

Yeah I guess it is all a trade off. I suppose the days of a huge groups of tanks taking on another WW2 style is no longer applicable in modern day fighting.
Still has vulnerable tracks and it's open to the top attack no matter how much protection they pile up front and side. It's the old story; in the race between the munitions and protections, munitions win every time. If you can see, you can hit it. If you can hit it, you can kill it.

Apparently, the Javelin is designed to attack from the top.
That's right. What's more, almost all of the new generation anti armor weapons are designed for the top strike, quite a few of them are two stage weapons to defeat the active and passive defenses. Not a good time to be a tanker.

It can attack both from the top and from the side. I recently watched a detailed army training video on youtube and it has various modes they use based on the need, the distance of the target etc.,.

Yup, people overstate tanks. Not to mention the terrain, context and size of the tanks also matter in how effective one is.

The above and many, many other posts and videos that u have shattered us with, demonstrates an avid affliction for all manner and matter 'military, conflict and war', that is in sharp contrast to your self-professed claim of "no war, peace and love."

I mean, I could understand this if it came from someone with a military background and battleground conflict experience, but for someone firmly ensconced in your idiosyncratic special space, much less ardor for military and conflict and much more peace-nikking would not only be more appropriate, but also more believable.

1. It is patently idiotic to deride an anti-war position based on someone reading about or watching videos on military weapon systems. They are unrelated.
2. It is naive, foolish and downright unintelligent to assume that someone who is anti-war, should as part of their anti-war position, display no interest in anything related to the military, weapons, conflicts, war or the related histories because you couldn't advocate for an anti-war position without knowledge of those things.
3.You do not get to decide what is appropriate and what isn't or even expect that I would give 2 shits about what you find believable. For all I know you are incapable of finding your own ass in the dark with both hands.

On you go to the ignore pile along with Franky.

So good that they are only sending them in after sending in refurbished T62/64s? and t54/55s.
...
I'd suggest their going in is a PR move for the home audience and they hadn't been sent in yet because they didn't want to lose them and make their military seem weak. At this point, even the average Russian has learned how much of a paper tiger they had so losing a few of their 'super-tanks' won't make a big splash.

I'd say the biggest real advantage the T-14 has over other Russian tanks is that I doubt the Colonels have sold off their spare parts yet.

AK rusts on the wet grass. It's the way they're made, that's the bad news. The good thing about the AK, even rusty it works just as well.
Probably using the same weapons you trained with decades ago.

But think what it does to any morale Russian conscripts have when they are given to be given the same guns their grandparents used and haven't been maintained since.

And what's wrong with that?
