I dont know, they could use nukes or ballistic missiles with huge conventional warheads may be?. Putin is crazy enough to do that.
Attack on Moscow is a huge problem for Putin. It strikes right at his legitimacy and his narrative of the limited border war, not to mention that Rodina is no longer secured. This could lead to his removal. Therefore, he must now throw something really heavy on Ukraine just to save face. Hopefully not a nuke.

I wouldn't go so far as his removal over a drone that went *pooofff*.

Why not? Putin built his whole career on the image of a strong, competent and decisive leader. The attack on Moscow shows weakness and unpredictability.

Unlikely based on a single drone attack and that too something Ukraine has denied having any involvement with. If Putin is deposed it is to Ukraine's advantage, so why would they deny it?

They deny it because they don't want to be nuked. In that part of the world, often what is left unsaid speaks the loudest. The Ukrainians bounced a drone off the roof of the Kremlin. That will have a long and lasting effect in Russia.

Nothing will happen. No one will care.

Ukraine said they did not.

Its sus to me given how the thing exploded with a big flash and then if it was a real explosive, it would throw shrapnel and the dome would show being hit. Seemed to go "poooff" The camera in a perfect angle etc.,

Maybe it is Russia's excuse to escalate war because they couldn't hack it the way they are going about it now.
The video seems legitimate, here is a picture of shrapnel and fire damage to the roof of the Kremlin. You can see the temporary repair done with sheet metal.

Looks like it might be the work of partisians.
A former Russian lawmaker linked with militant groups in Russia claims the recent drone attack on the Kremlin is the work of what he calls Russian partisans, not the Ukrainian military.

Thanks, I did not see this picture.

Its possible that it is the work of partisans given the Ukrainians have denied any involvement.

I guarantee you that Putin cares and so do the Russian people, while the Ukrainians will be celebrating behind the drawn curtains. That was a calculated move aimed at Putin himself, not to assassinate- that's preposterous for anyone who ever visited Kremlin- but to shake the faith of the Russians in his leadership and the way he runs this war.

They wont care enough to depose Putin over a drone attack. He is at war, it is to be expected. What will get him deposed is if he loses or in some way capitulates. This particular drone attack wont have anyone actually challenging his leadership.

Yes, this was probably staged by the Russians themselves. Well Putin is bracing for a Spring invasion of Ukraine, and he will try to justify the brutality of attacks as a reciprocal attempt by the Ukraine!!

Wonder why there were people on the roof of the Kremlin when it happened.

Russians don't throw away arms, they mothball them; sometimes they sell them when they get really old. That's how you can buy in North America the vintage SKS rifles(1950s) and ammo right out of the Russian army storage.
In the modern Russian military, the mid-level leadership seem to sell them pretty quickly, having hoped that the generals either take their cut or believe the fake numbers.

I don’t know where some of you are getting your information, but I know people that are there now and our emails indicate an entirely different story than what some of you described. The only reason Russia has not annihilated Ukraine is because Putin is attempting to limit civilian deaths. Otherwise, he would just carpet bomb Ukraine, which can easily still occur. This is not the Korangal Valley, other than mud, the geography is not a big deal, especially from the sky. I would like to see Putin blast Ukraine into tomorrow. Like the atomic bomb in WW2, it would save lives. The US and NATO caused this mess, not Putin!

What is your source or sources for all your Putinesque dogma? Putin is becoming the modern day Hitler in what he is trying to achieve. His terrorist stye bombings on Ukrainian infrastructure, civilians and homes are the most despicable acts of this century. PERIOD!!

In Russia, maybe. Or if they are in Ukraine, they're there as part of the Russian military. Because I know many people currently in Ukraine as well (both Ukrainians and Canadians in the Foreign Legion) and none of them are blaming the US and NATO for this problem.

If he could just carpet bomb Ukraine, as you claim, why can't he establish air superiority over Ukrainian approaches and save a ton of Russian lives?

Of course Ukrainians and Canadians in the Foreign Legion are not blaming the US and NATO for this problem.
