Probably Bunting will play, and Lafferty, will be scratched.
Hope they just stick with the current lineup. Seems to be working, no signs that Bunting brought something to the table that isn't already there with the current horses. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The Leafs don't really have any long distance shooters. So it would have to be a long distance shot with men (or women and/or trans) in front of Vassy.

Below is an example of a long distance shooter (Jacques Lemaire).

One of the criticisms on Reilly is his lack of a power point shot but I think he’s learnt, at least I’ve seen that in this series, to shoot the puck at the net without a big wind up for a tip in or screened goalie. The forwards have done a great job doing just that. On the tying goal Tavares did a great job screeningVasilevskiy. You can’t save what you can’t see and once a shot is tipped, the goalie has no time to react.

The Maple Leafs will have a chance to win their first playoff series since April 20, 2004, when they defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-1 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Toronto is 0-10 in its past 10 games with a chance to eliminate an opponent.

I got this quote from an article on nhl.com. I really hope the Leafs, can finally break that 0-10 streak.

It’s not just the Leafs too.
In last fall’s wildcard game against Seattle. The Jays were up 8-1 at the top of the 6th inning before choking on a Rogers 2oonie hot dog.
The Raps were up 19 points against Chicago in the 4th quarter before choking.
I really hope the Leafs can crack this curse, but its just as easy to imagine losing 3 in a row

Bunting looks to be scratched for game 5. All things considered this is the right move.
Against Montreal when they went up 3 to 1 with a shut out in game 4 Keefe made the switch from Dermott to Sandin for game 5.
Sandin played terrible in game 5 and the slide began. So probably best to not rock the boat while they're winning.
No need to give TB any added motivation as well to see Bunting out there while Cernak is still out.

Knies looks to be playing with Tavares and Marner in game 5. Knies is an upgrade over Kerfoot and Marner can help out Tavares.
That would likely mean Matthews plays with Nylander and Jarnkrok. M & N is a good combo. Both can shoot and pass at an elite level.
The 3rd line will then be Kerfoot O'Reilly and Acciari. For a 3rd line it's the best they've ever had in the Matthews era.
The 4th line is an upgrade over Simmonds and Clifford of last year. As long as they play Perry and Maroon even that's a win.

Both Boston and Carolina lost the 5th game when up 3 to 1.
Leafs could be the first team to advance if they win game 5.

Despite outplaying the Panthers, the Bruins couldn't close the deal.

Let see how the Leafs do later to-night. The puck can and does often take crazy bounces. I still think this is the best Leaf team in a generation but the window can close quickly.

P.S. Krakens won. Now lead 3 games to 2.

Did he score any other goals on slappers from outside the blue line in his career or is one enough to be classified as a long distance shooter?

I remember that goal and I'd classify it as a fluke goal more than anything else.

If anybody, I'd say JC Tremblay scored more long distance goals when he'd lob the puck in from on high and it would take crazy bounces. Even though those were fluke goals as well, it was still more than Lemaire.

Imagine if Seattle eliminates the Avalanche tommorow, talk about a Massive upset ! And right in Seattle ! A team in their second year of existence knocks off the Champs, not sure that has happened before in any sport. Certainly not the Vancouver Grizzlies lol

Speaking of home ice disadvantage, the home team records in this year’s first round playoffs so far have been something like 14 wins & 23 losses, and 0-2 in series clinching games with two of the best teams, Boston and Carolina both lost at home.

TB has looked like the better team in 4 out of the 5 games yet here we are Leafs are 3 to 2 up and the one game where Leafs looked better was when Hedman didn't play.

Hit the nail right on the head.

They're in trouble now and Dubas knows it.
