I have been watching a lot of slot videos on Youtube lately (mostly Lady Luck HQ).

I lost $2,700 a few weeks ago, and today I lost another $3,000, playing $10 a spin in the high limit room. I estimate I lost close to $10,000 in less than two years. I believe the Youtube videos are partly to blame, so I blocked and unsubscribed to all the slot channels.

Anyone else addicted to slots/gambling? What's the most you've lost? I feel depressed, since I could have seen ten ladies with the money I blew.

Went to US and tried casino for the first time.

They say first timers are lucky so I decided to try with $50 USD. Gone in about 30 mins. Plus I hate that people smoke inside.

Never again.

Oh, Stinkynuts, Stinkynuts. What have you done. You lost money and saw no ladies. Gambling is for losers. If you are not the master of the game then you are a slave. The same is true of the stock market where I put my money. Master the game before you put your money down. Gambling games are the worse. Metaphorically speaking, my edge on the market is that I get to run behind the dealer as he deals the cards. I do well on the markets and share my abilities with my lady friends with benefits. I am not a sports or movie star, ladies are interested in me for my mind. There is nothing more interesting to a single 40s middle/upper management lady than upping her dividends or doubling/tripling her nest egg annually.

I use to have four lady friends with benefits, one moved to another Canadian city to pursue a career advancement. ( I needed the rest ) I continued to offer her my benefits even though she was far away. She told me that she was going on a business trip to LA, at around that same time I was going to go to SF. She suggested we meet in Vegas, we have not seen each other in a while. We did very little gambling. She insisted that she take care of everything. Now that is a real GFE experience. My ladies with benefits like to pamper their cash kitty.

...................be a cash kitty, my friend.

I used to go to Vagas 4 or 5 times a year I used to love to gamble. I played on line for a while and it was just plane boring. I took my wife at the time for a weekend of fun, she dropped 1200 in an hour on slots ( I never play slots ) when we were about to leave she said she had to go to the washroom so waiting out side I dropped 300 on an poker machine in 5 min.most expensive pee I've ever experienced.

Do you know that slot machines have the worst odds out of all games?

That's why they occupy most of floor space in the casinos.

$10000 is a lot but consider yourself "lucky" that you didn't lose a hundred grand.

Don't be depressed, just do not go back and try to make up for the loss.

Not sure haw bad your addiction is but you might have to consider professional help.

But if its not too overwhelming yet just try to pull through it by yourself.

Go outside for long walks and try to figure out why the addiction in the first place.

Try to find another hobby!

Slots are the worst game in town for sure.

If you like gambling maybe learn poker.

But really there is only one way to beat the slots.

Thank you, great advice!

Lotto in ontario is better
Lotto Max and 6 49 are tickets are only worth buying because for a few dollars you have a chance at winning really big money. However the odds are terrible. So the only smart bet on those lotteries is a single ticket for each draw, or none at all if even that small amount of money is important to you..

For $5 you have a 1 in 32,000,000 chance of winning the Lotto Max jackpot. If you buy a second ticket for the same draw you're basically throwing that money away. It amazes me how many people buy multiple tickets or combination "extra number" tickets for those lotteries. To me you would get more entertainment value out of lighting the extra paper money involved on fire and watching it burn.

But I can't make my brother understand that. He spends at least $200 a week on those 2 lotteries, plus plays poker video terminal games and usually loses money on those. Not rent money, but still I'm sure he could find better uses for it.

He was always a gambler, and blew a small fortune in the stock market. He's a sucker for "pump & dump" style marketing, and believes the latest hype about things like Bitcoin going to 100k by the end of the year, etc., despite not understanding the game and market forces. (not to say Bitcoin won't reach that goal, but I wouldn't put a nickel in it)

The biggest problem is that he doesn't learn from his losses, and believes "the big win" is just around the corner. This after 40+ years of various types of gambling.

The recent $48,000,000 Gold Ball win by an 18 year old Ontario girl with the first 6 49 ticket she bought is still eating him alive...

There is a certain "gambler mentality" that I believe is an addiction that is almost impossible to control without professional help.

I'm sure many of us are spending more than we should on our sex addictions. But at least we sex addicts are getting some value for our money in the physical and mental pleasure derived in our encounters with the sex providers. Just as long as the money doesn't die before we do....

Gambling is far worse than hobbying. It destroys lives, and is just as addictive as drugs. At a biological level it is doing the same thing as drugs.

I've dabbled in some games of chance while at casinos, but never for any major stakes.
Major stakes I dropped at the poker table, where it's not all about luck.

I honestly have no idea what the appeal of slot machines are. Or lotteries. I can never look past what's such an inescapably poor financial investment for what I consider a cheap thrill.

Apparently 75% casino profits come from slots

You are so right. Slots, whether you play online or live at casinos have the worst odds to win. You are better off playing baccarat or blackjack which has the best odds, or even roulette and play odds or evens or black or red. I have been playing online poker no limit holdem for about 6 years and have cashed in over $2500. while losing about $500. Also won an entry to a live tournament in Manchester England, but had to pay my airfare, declined and took the buying amount of 300 Euros instead. My biggest pet peeve is that Ahole Doug Ford has changed the rules for online poker sites by giving licences to only a few sites for Ontario residents to legally play out of the hundreds of sites available around the world. Lastly, I am very upset seeing all the TV commercials showing how exciting it is to play Slots online knowing that it is the worst form of gambling and how young people get addicted.

Why would you watch videos on Youtube about slot machines? Unless you have a problem? While waiting for my Chinese girlfriend while she was gambling, I sat in the lobby and started looking online about gambling addiction. The problem goes deep. Luckily for me gambling is deeply boring.

Slot machines are programmed with an algorithm which ensures that overall, the house always wins. Why play something that is programmed to make you lose?

The best odds are poker, because there is some skill involved.

Black Jack can be hacked. It’s called card counting and all casinos vigilantly watch out for it.

The hardest thing to do at a casino is to leave when you’re up. Most people can’t.

Or someone may win and cash in their winnings, but eventually return a week or two later and lose what they had originally won and more.

Go to a casino and put $20,000 on black in roulette.
1 of two things will happen, you walk away with $40,000, make up the 10k you lost and then some or now you really have something to be depressed over
