Pharma companies pay doctors to prescribe their medication. I have consulted for big pharma, and the thing is their marketing and sales departments do not consider people like us to be customers. They actually consider doctors to be their customers because they are the ones that prescribe medication. This is per their definition not my interpretation.
There are a number of ways drug companies can pay doctors for work, including delivering speeches and participating in clinical trials.

I once did a focus group with customers for a big pharma company for their consumer insights team. The goal was not to analyze what side effects for example that a particular drug was causing (to hopefully make product changes), but to analyze how they could modify their marketing language that will persuade a person like you are or me to put that drug into our bodies regardless of the side effect. See what I mean?
So you have to take these things with a grain of salt. Just because your doctor or Pfizer recommend something doesn't mean you follow that advice without asking and educating yourself about side effects. You then make an informed decision on whether or not you want that particular treatment. The same rule applies to Covid vaccines as well. This is why although I recommend the vaccine based on personal experience, I dont diss someone who makes a decision to not get the vaccine. Its their body and their choice.
