Especially one minute before a FG kicker who has a long streak going . . . Yike !
HaHa!!!! I find it happens in baseball the most. In the 70's and 80's, God help the broadcaster that mentioned a goalie had a shutout going or a pitcher who had a no-hitter going. It was, and is, interesting to see how the broadcaster lets the audience know a no-hitter is going on without actually saying the words. "It's the top of the sixth, and the Blue Jays have yet to have a base runner"

Not a good wild card weekend betting wise. Down about $225. Fucking Chargers blowing a 27-0 lead cost me the most. Only bet I won was the Dolphins +13.
The Bills and the Bengals both failed to impress. Now they face off against each other. Gonna be a tough call.

Straight up wins.
49ers chiefs Eagles & Bengals this weekend
Maybe, but I think the Cowboys might surprise the 49ers, I am taking the Cowboys and the pts.

The Chiefs shouldn't have any problems with the Jags. If Jalen Hurts still isn't healthy or rusty, the Eagles are going to have some problems with the Giants.

The Bengals/Bills can go either way, probably would take the Bengals and the pts.

Here's what I'm thinking right now.

Dallas plus 3.5 under
Cincy plus 4.5 over
Philly minus 7.5 over
Kansas City minus 8.5 over

I think my big bet will the Giants. Division rivalry games are often closer than they should be because of familiarity and hatred.

7.5 points ain't bad either.

5/6 in round one. Too bad the TB defense forgot to show up.

* KC will win big over the Jags. Jacksonville will learn what it takes it to get to the next level.
* Cincy will beat the Bills. Buffalo turns the ball over too much for an elite team.
* I think SF wins by at least 4. SF has a kick ass defense but this is the first tough team they have played since Purdy took over.
* Philly wins a close one over the Giants as the G-Men cover.

For those of you with a Bet365 account, you should take advantage of the 30% profit boost for their in-game parlays.

For those that don't have an account yet, they are still offering $250 worth of Free bets until March 2nd.

Also, their NFL super boost have won 11 out of 14 so far this season and I would say that the average odd was around +200

Wow, yu guyz should either:

1) Rename this thread as "NFL Playoffs BETTING chattering circle" or,

2) Move it to the "Lotto and Gaming" forum,

as it has basically nothing, nada, nil and zilch to do with the actual game of NFL football.

Sheesh.

Lol, they estimate at least half the audience ONLY watches it because they bet on it. Betting is very much a part of the spectator side of the sport.

Couldnt agree more. It's nauseating. Patrick Mahomes gets injured, returns heroically to lead the Chiefs to a 5th consecutive AFC Championship match. Meanwhile, gimpy-shouldered Jalen Hurts leads the Eagles to a mauling of the Giants 38-7. Any mention of those? Nah. Instead we are inundated with these moronic gambling lines (n)

The above post has absolutely nothing to do with the actual game of football, and yes even the actual NFL football game being played on the field.

Betting is very much a part of the promotional/entertainment and marketing extravaganza four ring circus sideshow of NFL football which has nothing, nada, nil and zilch to do with the actual football game.

Befitting that you and the betting hounds in this thread are unable to discern the difference.

Matriculate this thread to the Lotto and Gaming Forum - Hank Stram

What do you think the nattering nannies betting and knitting circle-jerk over/under response to your post will be, +/- 4?

I'll give 5 to 1 odds that the sideshow fanatics are frantically searching for betting lines on you post.

My spread picks were spot on yesterday but lost the O/U on Jax/KC which is what I was most confident on TBH. Agnew is in my bad books.

Today's games
Bills -6 vs. Bengals. I know the Bengals are missing some linemen but I gotta figure they can keep this game close. Bills to win but Bengals cover.
49'ers -4 vs. Cowboys. If the Boys play like they did last week they could very well win this game outright. But its the Boys and consistency haven't been a strong suit. 49'ers have won 11 games in a row and overall are the better team. Their biggest weakness is in the secondary. If Prescott has enough time he will pick them apart. I'm banking on that happening so will definitely be betting on the Cowboys to cover. And I may even take them on the money line at +160.

The Jags made a game of it, mind you the health of Mahomes may have had something to do with it. I like the look of their team going forward.

Bengals are playing a heck of a game today. I like that old man winter has showed up.

Joe Burrow is playing like Joe Montana. Brock Purdy is playing like Tom Brady. Both cool, calm, precise passers.

Burrow has beaten a healthy Mahomes three consecutive times. With a high sprained ankle, Mahomes doesnt stand a chance against Burrows on Sunday.

The Eagles have so many weapons and so do the 49ers. Its a toss up.

They showed a flash during the 49ers/Cowboys match: Das Prescott is -14.7% against QBs in the league when under pressure. And he showed it with 2 interceptions. Not the Cowboys QB of the future

I know you have been praising the new Tom Brady who currently QB's SF's offence since he came into the game vs. Miami when Jimmy G. was injured, but please let me highlight a few things before he is actually crowned the new GOAT:

1) He has now QB'd in 8 games thus far. 6 regular season games, 1 wild card game and divisional round game.
2) In those 8 games he has only faced a top tier defence, that being Dallas, in just 1 game.
3) With the new Tom Brady as QB, SF has averaged well over 30 points per game against those 7 mostly bottom to mid-tier defences BUT scored just 19 points against the top tier defence of Dallas.
4) Dallas has speed on defence and they mostly bottled-up SF's run game in addition to putting more than a piddling pass rush against the new Tom Brady as his other 7 opponents could and did not.
5) If Dallas has a deficit on defence, it would be it's corners and possibly it's safeties. One of the new Tom Brady's weaknesses, is that he struggles to throw and complete passes to the 2 outer thirds of the width of the playing field. If you have noticed, almost all of passes are thrown down the middle third of the field which the Dallas corners should have but but not defend well. Had Dallas done this the game may have been won by Dallas instead.

6) Philly does not have the deficit that Dallas has on defence. Their corners are all-pros. They also led the league by a wide margin in sacks. Their defence is top tier. If they a weakness, it may be in their run defence. Limit the run, pressure the QB as much as they have all season long and especially cut off the middle third of the field and force the new Tom Brady to throw to the outer 2 thirds of the field. That is their winning formula on defence.
7) Here's the other part: The SF defence does not do well against a team with a mobile/running QB and Philly has just about the best in the league. Also, the Phily O-line is legendary. Much better than the Dallas O-line and they will control the line of scrimmage against the SF defence.

8) So don't crown Purdy as the new GOAT yet, he has deficits, and they will be on display against SF. He is football smart, has situational game awareness galore, has starter talent but far, far away from becoming the new GOAT, let alone on a par with Burrow, and Mahommes and notches below Lawrence and Herbert and it mostly has to do with the strength of his arm which has led the Niner's coaching staff to limit his throws to the middle 3rd of the field.

This is how we discuss the game of football in an actual NFL Playoffs thread, and NOT by tossing out betting lines and then moaning and groaning or thumping and pumping about our bet results.
