I don't have to agree with him to respect his right to speak and express his views.

As a matter of fact I disagree with many of his beliefs. I respect that he's an intelligent, thoughtful person who has conviction and the courage to express himself.

Besides taking a public figure like Peterson out of context is an easy way to generate headline criticisms.

Does he oppose Marxist ideology? Definitely....
Hmmm. In a side of our political times, you can call out Marxism in general terms. However if you call out extreme ideas on equity and government control of productive sectors as Marxist, you're in a melee on social media.

The melee is slowly coming upon us dressed up as liberalism....

And yet I can see 2 of that list having him run counter to the field of psychology and also demeaning some groups of their clientele.
Add in the anti science climate change stance and I could see how you don't want Peterson, as the public persona he is, representing their field.

This is as much about free speech as Musk's rules on twitter are about free speech.
Its more about feeling like you shouldn't have to deal with the consequences of your ideas, speech and actions.

Well, we differ... I'd rather that we can differ and have debates about topics that are controversial rather than silence someone for disagreeing with me.

I'm more focused on his brave anti masturbation stance. Less masturbation is what this world really needs.

And violated their requirements and therefore loses his licence. Is that so hard to understand? Would you want a doctor who wasn't licenced?
If you take my comments out of context than you can make it look like I don't understand what's going on...

Maybe, my skin is a little thicker than yours. I don't really care what my doctor's opinions are on the various culture wars that are going on, I just want him/her to be competent in their job.

Yes, you are correct, he violated their interpretation of what constitutes professional behavior. They are not rescinding his license for that, they have mandated that he do remedial training, if he doesn't, there will be further sanctions.

He won't do remedial training when he can make a ton of cash crying censorship.

Peterson's next move will be very interesting. You know he's going to video record everything and publicize it. He's going to draw as much out of this to support his platform as possible. In the end he'll lose but he'll gain more recognition.

That's why I asked earlier if he was misrepresenting the case against him.
It's a no-brainer for him to milk it as censorship - that's what his fan base wants.
Losing his license costs him nothing and fighting the OCP gains him a lot - so he will do that.

You can read the decision here by downloading the pdf.

He's going to make this as unpleasant as he can for the OCP.

Those people he has ''offended'' will gloat for now but he will survive this and his viewership will expand.

Of course those who have never read his books or watched a full video will continue their ad hominem attacks without justification other than their own dissatisfaction with their putrid lives.

Pretty much why he's doing it, huh?

Why be a shrink / prof, when you can make 10 x as much being a lying internet grifter?

And the inevitable support for Andrew Tate, who Peterson presents as just needing a little psychotherapy...

Gotta cater to your incel audience when Tate's their other idol.

But surely those "putrid" people have every justification. He has been found ethically and professionally lacking by his own professional board. The "hominem" has been professionally found to be an unethical ass-jack by his own peers after a full and fair hearing.

This is a moment which he will grift on and cash in on. But being disciplined by your own professional body is a moment of deep humiliation and disgrace. Any decent, ethical healer would be mortified at the shame.

Not Peterson, of course. Because he's a grifting turd-dump. But normally decent professionals would be ashamed.

Of course.

Peterson will try to make as much money pedalling outrage as he can.
That is his new job.
Pushing outrageous positions like 'masturbation is bad' and waiting for the clicks and likes.

I don't think you and the activist journalists that you rely on realize how outdated your tropes are. But this is a good trend. The more out of touch you are, the less influence you have.

You'll catch up in 15 years after some social scientists complete their longitudinal studies on what's happening that you can reference.

Except we're not the ones who are out of date and falling behind.

Public servants in Tory Blue Ontario are now putting pronouns on their email sigs and apologizing for living on Hadenosaunee land. The woke is not not only mainstream, but centre-right mainstream.

Only the PPC - with its 5% of support - is holding out.
