Peterson has found out that saying outrageous things pays more than tenure and more then being a psychologist.
He's playing to his market and is cashing in big time peddling outrage that you and the right wingers buy by the dozen.
He doesn't care about being a psychologist, other than making more money off of getting censured.

Meanwhile, how many right wingers who are freedom of speech lovers use the ignore function on this board?
Peterson is just lecturing on a bigger platform.

His basic message is always constant. Individual sovereignty. Being a better person and helping your family and community.

Still married to the same woman. Still living in the same house, has been for years.

He believes everyone has the right to be heard. Then you make your decision from there. don't conflate that with a call to action. It's not the same.

He's got what 5 million followers on his YouTube channel alone. Sold over 7 million books. Helped millions of persons along the way. Is friends with some of the most influential people in the world.

Does he have his foibles. Yes no doubt. Does he have a history of depression? Yes. Did he have problems getting off prescription medication for anxiety? Yes. Are his diet practices unique? Yes. Is he quirky? Yes

He's always up to debate or interview anyone with opposing views. He'll listen too. He doesn't talk over opponents. He treats them with respect.

Does he oppose Marxist ideology? Definitely....

Do you agree with him that:
White privilege doesn't exist
Climate change isn't real
Women who wear makeup are being sexually provocative
A diet of all meat cures depression.

Those are wacked ideas.
He really should not be a psychologist and should stick to being a high brow Andrew Tate.

One at a time....He's never stated that a meat only diet cures depression. You might be hearing that but he's never said that. He has stated that this is all that works for him. You're conflating that to him recommending that other people do that. He's stated that he's uncomfortable discussing his diet choices because he's not a nationalist.

NowDr. Paul Saladino has stated that very thing. But lately has added fruit and honey to his recommendations. Dr. Ken Berry and Dr. Shawn Baker are still meat only. Yes they have all been attacked for their beliefs.

I haven't been following this.
Is there any proof he is actually being reprimanded for the tweets he says he is being reprimanded for, or is he just lying about the story by omitting details?

I don't have to agree with him to respect his right to speak and express his views.

As a matter of fact I disagree with many of his beliefs. I respect that he's an intelligent, thoughtful person who has conviction and the courage to express himself.

Besides taking a public figure like Peterson out of context is an easy way to generate headline criticisms.

Hmmm. In a side of our political times, you can call out Marxism in general terms. However if you call out extreme ideas on equity and government control of productive sectors as Marxist, you're in a melee on social media.

The melee is slowly coming upon us dressed up as liberalism....

And yet I can see 2 of that list having him run counter to the field of psychology and also demeaning some groups of their clientele.
Add in the anti science climate change stance and I could see how you don't want Peterson, as the public persona he is, representing their field.

This is as much about free speech as Musk's rules on twitter are about free speech.
Its more about feeling like you shouldn't have to deal with the consequences of your ideas, speech and actions.

Well, we differ... I'd rather that we can differ and have debates about topics that are controversial rather than silence someone for disagreeing with me.

I'm more focused on his brave anti masturbation stance. Less masturbation is what this world really needs.

And violated their requirements and therefore loses his licence. Is that so hard to understand? Would you want a doctor who wasn't licenced?
If you take my comments out of context than you can make it look like I don't understand what's going on...

Maybe, my skin is a little thicker than yours. I don't really care what my doctor's opinions are on the various culture wars that are going on, I just want him/her to be competent in their job.

Yes, you are correct, he violated their interpretation of what constitutes professional behavior. They are not rescinding his license for that, they have mandated that he do remedial training, if he doesn't, there will be further sanctions.

He won't do remedial training when he can make a ton of cash crying censorship.

Peterson's next move will be very interesting. You know he's going to video record everything and publicize it. He's going to draw as much out of this to support his platform as possible. In the end he'll lose but he'll gain more recognition.

That's why I asked earlier if he was misrepresenting the case against him.
It's a no-brainer for him to milk it as censorship - that's what his fan base wants.
Losing his license costs him nothing and fighting the OCP gains him a lot - so he will do that.

You can read the decision here by downloading the pdf.

He's going to make this as unpleasant as he can for the OCP.

Those people he has ''offended'' will gloat for now but he will survive this and his viewership will expand.

Of course those who have never read his books or watched a full video will continue their ad hominem attacks without justification other than their own dissatisfaction with their putrid lives.

Pretty much why he's doing it, huh?

Why be a shrink / prof, when you can make 10 x as much being a lying internet grifter?
