So I try to stay away from ordering on Amazon as much as I can. I don't care about the convenience or cost savings. I'd prefer to spend my money at local retailers. That being said in a pinch I decided to purchase two gift cards and have them sent electronically as Christmas gifts. So on Christmas morning I logged on purchased the gift cards and had them emailed/texted. Well don't I get an email the next morning saying we believe there is suspicious activity on your Amazon account and we have gone ahead and cancelled your transaction and disabled your account. In order to restore I had to login and reset password and do two factor authentication which I did and re ordered the gift cards.
Well apparently that was not sufficient because they once again blocked the transaction and left me a voice message stating so. I'm like WTF is going on here. So I called the number back and nothing. I think its one of those numbers that doesn't accept inbound calls. Then I get another call earlier this morning and I could barely hear the caller. To make it worse she had a thick Indian accent so extremely hard to understand. I said is this Amazon please process the gift cards its now 2 days past Christmas. I barely heard her say okay and I voiced my displeasure and hung up in disgust.
It should be noted that when I did the original transaction I had to add a new method of payment as the old credit card on file was no longer in use. I appreciate that Amazon is trying to avoid fraud but in this instance it was just plain ridiculous the chain of events. I'm done with them for good.
