Actually, I won all 5 of my picks and am on a real roll. In the last 3 weeks, I am 11-2 against the spread.
11-2 is amazing. That's way better than most of these so called pro handicappers. Hope you bet singles vs my dumb parlays. Parlays bettors subsidize betting sites profits. . .

I think that, even though they are fun to bet, parlays are sucker bets. LOL

Actually, I'm in a pool with a $150 buy in. You start with 1,000 points and bet points as you wish. I think that the top 3, at the end of the year collect.

We have 28 guys. Going into this week I was 7th, overall. Standings are posted on Tuesday, after the last game of the week. I'm guessing that I'll be somewhere from 4-6 as I collected 300 points. I'll be at 1,500 points but the leader went into the week at 4,000 points and 2nd was at 2,000.

Before I got into sports betting I used to enjoy watching any game, as long as it was close (blow-outs I would switch the channel).

Then I got into sports betting and my enjoyment of the game went down as I was cheering for a team to cover the spread. I was not making a living off my bets (my guess is I have broken even over the years, or maybe a smallish loss).

So I stopped betting and enjoy the games again.

Though I will join office/friendly pools for bragging rights.
This!

I've heard so many claims, by so many people, over so many years that they are avid football fans. But, as soon as their bets lose, they lose all interest in watching the games for the day and/or week. Until .... the next slate of betting slips come out. Then their ardor and super fandom suddenly reappears. Lose .... rinse .... repeat.

And you would think there's no way that specific play could ever happen. PIT vs CLE I was winning my parlay and covering my spread and 10 seconds to go in the game. Pitt on their 10 yard line and maybe one Hail Mary pass and the game is over. No, the PIT player laterals the ball 11 yards behind him , bounces into the end zone and the CLE player grabs the ball for 6 points. That was the only possible way I could lose that parlay. Happened twice this year. Give me a F'n break ! I feel ya ! Fan Duel credited all those bad beat losses the next day after that idiot play .

11-2 is amazing. Only Tulane and Oregon State are winning at that pace. I'm going to hire you for next NFL season ! Keep it up ! Do you find playoffs easier or harder to pick ?

Actually, I think that it's a mixed bag. I don't know if the parameters I use during the season apply to the playoffs so I don't really bet the same way. However, since there are way fewer teams, it is easier to assess each matchup and we are dealing with higher quality teams. Most years I end up ahead but nothing huge.

Keep in mind that 13 games in a 3 week period is not a large sample size.

Agreed. 13 is a small sample size, but at that pace if your bet size remains constant, you'll still have a very successful NFL season. Don't give back that nice Rolex
you have on ! :ROFLMAO:

Your unadulterated love and ardor for the game for betting on football is quite stupendous

I follow the CBS Sportsline / Pick 6 sports experts / analysts just for their commentaries on the games, not their picks. I always make my picks after they feed me all the necessary stats for the different matchups that I deem best for betting. Most of them brag about their 56% season success. Hahaha, I just want to beat 56 or better. MNF ! Let's make some money guys !

So you think that I should be saving some of those points for my retirement? LOL

Usually, the only time I bet money on football is the playoffs.

No doubt. Week 15 of 2019 Eagles vs. Redskins. Redskins were down 4 (and covering the +6.5 spread) with seconds left. The Redskins QB lateraled the ball to a teammate who dropped it and the Philly defender picked it up and ran in the TD with no time left. Ended up costing me thousands of dollars. Still bitter over that one.

You beat me on "bad beats" since your potential gain was in the thousands vs my hundreds. Possible OT win for TCU vs K State , 3rd and 1/2 yard to go and can't punch it in for the OT lead. K State takes over and easy FG. All the same , ouch and WTF !

Not exactly the same, but I got screwed in 2 survivor pools, both times by the Vikes.

1) 3 guys left in the pool. Minny was the biggest dog of the week and I had the other team. Out of nowhere, some unknown rookie for the Vikes ran for close to 300 yards and won in a huge upset. I think the rookie's name was Adrian Peterson.

2) 3 guys left once again and once again Vikes were biggest dogs of the week. Double digits +. Come Sunday, the other two guys get knocked out and I just need Vikes to lose, as expected. The catch is that there was a huge snowstorm in Minny and the roof of the Metrodome got a tear in it from the weight of the snow and was deemed unsafe. They had to find an alternate site. The starting QB for Minny couldn't go after testing it on Sunday morning and QB#2 was also out. So they had to go with the 3rd stringer. They didn't play the game until Tuesday which gave the 3rd stringer a couple of extra days to get in some reps. He used the extra time to his advantage and once again, the Vikes had a huge upset and I had to share the money 3 ways instead of all for myself. Grrr.

I went back and looked it up. The cost to me was less than I thought only $1,550.
