IMHO, France will very likely do what Brazil did and that is to win the consecutive World Cup titles.

He did not put a foot wrong except on one occasion when he had a bad header onto the sidelines.
he seems to be underrated for this tournament, never in the conversation to be one of the best, but in my mind he is right up there with modric. this guy is literally everywhere, and does everything.

Because he is not supposed to be like Modric. He is supposed to be a striker. Deschamps has adapted new role for him for France

Greizman is a much better trequartista than he ever was as a striker. Deschamps is like Ancelotti, he knows what he's doing.

Of more important news, Ac Milan are activating the $2.4 million buyback option on the player The Great Zlatanissimo calls Hulk: Lorenzo Colombo. Giroud turned 36 in September, he's going to be gassed after the WC. It's thunder time in San Siro.

Why does Argentina have no black players?

Argentina is a geographical outlier built on ranching not plantations, they didn't need slaves. It's also been relatively free of invasion, the British saw it as a replacement for the USA, they attempted conquest in the 1830's. They took over easily enough...then this happened.

The British had a fighting retreat, out of spite they kept The Malvinas. The 1982 war was unnecessary, The Falklands are a windswept almost barren rock, the Argies don't need it.

In other soccer news, he was very popular..

Sinisa Mihajlovic didn't make it. The Serbian coach and soccer player died at the age of 53 after a long battle against leukemia which had lasted since July 2019.

Mihajlovic fought the disease with his warrior character until the end without being able to save his life. At the beginning of December he had made his last public appearance, in Rome, on the occasion of the presentation of a book. A former defender with marked offensive propensities for Vojvodina, Red Star Belgrade, Rome, Sampdoria, Lazio and Inter, Mihajlovic then became an appreciated coach, remaining in the saddle on the Bologna bench until his dismissal on 6 September. Previously he had led, among other teams, Milan, Turin, Fiorentina and the Serbian national team. As a footballer, with Lazio, he won the Scudetto in 2000, strongly linked to the city of Rome, where he still lived.

Exactly. With both midfielder Kante and Pogba out DD made Griezman be the central play maker. I always tough he was much overrated... He proves me wrong now.

This may be the best, most exciting and suspenseful WC final ever, or one of the worst, if players on both teams are afraid to make a mistake. France is the better overall team, but nobody should dismiss the Messi factor. He is still on a different level.

I got the feed in the morning: Sinisa e scomparso.

Fernando Santos has been fired as Portugal manager for getting his tactics wrong...like Spain's manager Luis Enrique did before him. Both figured they could beat Morocco with team speed, precision passing and crossing. Problem is they had lightweights up front, they made Morocco look good. CR7 and Leao could have done what Mbappe and Giroud did, given the chance.

Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi hate each other. I was wondering why Messi signed with PSG when he hates both the Frenchman and Verratti. The Argie doesn't like being made to look ordinary, Mbappe showed him up in the Russian WC. Messi even tried to crush players on Barcelona who didn't play it his way (Eto'o, Zlatan, Coutinho to name a few). Mbappe may become the only player who's ever punked him out and gotten away with it.

Wow a pic of the Nation's League collision, seconds before it happened, exists.

Kane was in an awkward position, Toloi did not relax his cover. Had Kane spiked Toloi he may have gotten a red card. He chose to avoid it and took the brunt of the hit. Toloi is a scrap iron tough defender known as The Atalanta Wall, he doesn't give an inch. Mad respect for Kane for continuing play after the hit, most players would have been stretchered off. Kane and Toloi battled all match.
