Is Health Care in Canada really that bad?

It is a philosophy of the right to minimize governmental involvement. Look at history. If we ignore it, we will repeat our mistakes.

Harper sold off our only facility that could manufacture vaccines on a large scale. That's why we had to scramble for covid vaccines from other countries.

Mike Harris sold off the 407 to make his books look better. Now that highway probably has the highest rates in the world because the consortium that owns it can charge whatever they want.

Ford wants to allow development in the greenbelt.

Privatization is what the righties are all about.
Again show some proof.
Did he say in a news conference or at Queens Park or in a campaign speech that he wants to privatize health care?
You are speculating, that's all.

There's lots he could do better.
But you can't pin Ontario health care on him when Ford isn't spending the money Trudeau gave him.
Sure you can. Every provincial leader is on the same page as Ford and transfer payments under Trudeau have been slashed.

He doesn't have to repeat it, plus it would be horrible politics which would cost him votes if he was honest and upfront about it.

History is plenty of proof. It's what conservative governments like to do. They've done it before and they'll do it again. A leopard doesn't change its' spots.

Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. It's a universally accepted truism, unless it doesn't fit anti-Liberal philosophy.

Please present proof of Ford wanting to privatize health care.
Other than the protesters using that unproven fact to try and get public sympathy.
'During the summer of 2020, the Conservatives passed a health privatization bill for home care, rescinding most of the existing home care legislation. Instead, it set up the structure for privatization and removed all legislative hurdles to privatizing the last public parts of home care.

The Ford government also moved forward with new privatization in long-term care. In an unprecedented move, the Conservatives issued 30-year licenses and expansions for 18,000 long-term care beds to the same for-profit corporations responsible for the deaths of 4,000 long-term care residents—the same for-profit operators that had to have the army sent in to help with neglected and dying residents.'

PLEASE stop putting yourself right or left. This makes you ignorant to abuses of power and corruption. Trudeau, Ford amd Tory are all in the same CLUb.

You're not in it! Stay neutral!

The country below us was the US. Which doesn't even have public healthcare, so it doesn't even count. So we are the last.
Are you saying that there are only 10 western countries with socialized health care? Hah. It is an egregiously small sample.

That looks like cherry picking to me.

Holy shit!

I ask you to provide a single westernized first world country that is worse you can't do it.
Yet you ask me for facts to back up my statement.
I provide them, then you reject them based on some bullshit sample size argument.
You obviously want to be oblivious to how fucked up our healthcare is in this country so you can keep burying your head in the sand and pretending that Justin Asshole is doing a great job.

Look over this then.

From this you can tell we are at or near the top in spending per capita on healthcare, but near or at the bottom when it comes to what we get for our money. Near bottom for acute care beds. Near bottom for MRI and CT scanner access. Near bottom for fast access to doctors and surgical services. Near bottom for doctors per 1000 people.

Wake the fuck up.

Covid exposed how bad our system is and resulted in longer+harder lockdowns than most of the world because of how bad it is.

Now the backlog and the system staff fatigue are making it worse.

The status quo is no longer reliable. We can throw more money to it but that won’t fix the problems - we need more private delivery of Heath care in Canada - universally paid for by the govt.

Demand is much bigger than supply - private delivery would take that gap out in no time

Frank lets be honest.
You love Trudeau and everything he does. In your eyes he can do no wrong.
I think Frank is very much like me. Not a big Trudeau supporter because honestly Trudeau is a puppet.

Yet I prefer a tea drinker puppet then a crazy gun lover who supported a stupid convoy of truckers who had no clue what they were fighting for was clueless...

Ignorant, that's too funny.

Privatizing long term car homes is a long way off from hospital privatization.

Oh he is a big Trudeau fan.
Never seen a post where he says a bad word about Trudeau.
No matter what Trudeau does he defends it tooth and nail.

You are correct.
What has he done right?
I think he has accomplished a few things. He isn't perfect and he has his shortcomings, but to say he hasn't done anything and he can do nothing right, is an ideological position that doesn't mean much.

- Lowest unemployment
- Lowest poverty
- Marijuana legalization
- Managing the pandemic (extremely tough to do because nothing you do can be right)
- Trade deal with the US

Just to name a few.
