It's frightening to think what Brazil may have done if they had Ronaldo Nazario on the current Selects.

I don’t care about Mbappe smiling and celebrating, but Giroud tried to run and an celebrate right in Kane’s face before one of his teammates dragged him away.

This comedy skit didn’t age well.

This is what will be remembered about CR7 with his national team at the 2022 WC.
That indeed may be the case, but you fail to realize it is such a tiny part of his overall career. It is barely a footnote. Compare how long his career has been and weigh that against 1 WC tournament in the twilight of his career. The scales could not be more tilted. This one WC is but a speck on his overall legacy.

BTW, I'm not particularly a fan of his, but I can still appreciate that he had an outstanding career.

But you are entitled to continue looking at him through your shit-tinted and warped glasses.

We've made our points and one is based on personal taste, emotion and malice and one is based on logic and objectivity. AFAIC, I have no need to further this discussion.

Our honourable friend Donato Draper is being a hypocrite, he's trumping up CR7's flaws while ignoring those of his hero Messi. So let's balance the table.

Both CR7 and The Cockroach are tax evaders, CR7 ended up paying $20 million in arrears and fines while Messi got a kiss on the wrist from the Catalan Magistrate. Messi's heritage is from San Severino in Le Marche, yet he can't speak a word of Italian, he initially became a EU domestic from an Italian passport. His money grubbing ways was one of the reasons Barcelona we're financially driven into the ground. He hasn't won any trophies since Xavi and Iniesta retired, I hope Modric and Croatia kick his ass.

Last but not least, CR7 has too much class to shill for a terrorist State....who will win the WC, anybody but Argentina.

Ronaldo Nazario > Messi.
I don't know how much Italian he should feel, he was born in Argentina, his parents are born in Argentina. I don't find nothing wrong for him to feel Argentinian.

This referee was always not good. Messi will be playing despite the yellow card, they overturned it.

World Cup referee sent home after being slammed by Lionel Messi and Argentina

Referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz will not oversee any more World Cup matches after feeling the wrath of Argentina star Lionel Messi.
The Spaniard was put in charge for the South American’s quarter-final showdown with the Netherlands last week. Despite Argentina running out victorious on penalties, there were huge complaints sent the way of the official.

In what was a bad-tempered clash, Lahoz issued an eye-watering 17 yellow cards with Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries also receiving his marching orders despite the game having already finished. Meanwhile, two-goal hero Wout Weghorst was also issued with a booking even before he took to the pitch.

Messi, the scorer of Argentina’s second goal in the game, aired his complaints about the official’s performance. He told TyC Sports "This match shouldn't have ended as it did.

"I don't want to talk about the referee because they sanction you. But people saw what happened. We were afraid before the match because we knew how he was and I think FIFA has to review this. You can't put a referee like him for these matches."

Meanwhile, Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez ruthlessly criticised Lahoz for his performance. He said: “The ref gave everything to them [Netherlands]. It all turned upside

“He gave 10 minutes extra time for no reason. He just wanted them to score. That referee is crazy. Arrogant. You say something to him and he talks back to you. It's crazy.

“Because Spain were eliminated, he wanted to eliminate us. He is the worst referee at the World Cup. Hopefully we won’t have him again - he’s useless.”

Now, it has emerged that Lahoz’s display has spelt the end of his World Cup campaign .The 45-year-old will not oversee any more matches at the tournament and is expected to return home to Spain.

Lahoz is not the only official to have been questioned for his performances at the World Cup over the last month. Brazilian referee Wilton Sampaio was the target of severe criticism for his showing during England’s quarter-final defeat to France.

Numerous members of the Three Lions’ squad slammed him during their post-match interviews, whilst former Manchester United defender Gary Neville branded him as an “absolute joke”.

Speaking to ITV, he said: “The referee had a nightmare game, an absolute joke of a referee. I’m not saying that was all down to England’s defeat because that’s making excuses. He was just a bad referee, rank bad.”

The ref was awful but was favouring Vargentina with a lot of the calls. Seems they try to give Messi a suspect penalty every match.

He escaped any punishment for this deliberate handball

97% of the population are white in Argentina

I wonder why the Washington post doesn't ask the same to Morocco, typical libtards.

There's no doubt that the referee in that France England game was horrible. I could have done a better job and I haven't refereed a game in over 25 years.

They would still be going home. Brazil under Tite played slow and neutralized their speed and skill advantages. Ronaldo Nazario wouldnt get any service. A Ferrari does not have any advantage if its driver decides to race at 100 km/hr against a Hyundai. If Brazil had a coach like Pep Guardiola, they would have overcome Croatia relatively easily. Look at Man City. High line. Press, press. Haaland gets lots of service. Lots of goals. This is why Brazil apparently contacted Pep if he would become their manager. Jurgen Kloop is a similar type of manager.. Germany should hire him to become their new manager.

Exactly. He was just happy they remained in the lead. As for Kane's ball NASA has reported they spotted it after it's second orbit turn 😷

As much as I am a fan of Messi and even more of Modric in this WC I am impressed by Griezman. He's playing a different position then his usual striker or right wing position. He's playing the position Pogba should be and, surprisingly for me, is mastering it very well. Without Kante and Pogba I was afraid France's midfield was too weak. Griezman is delivering the job so far.
Yes it is a pleasant surprise to see Griezmann back to best. He didn't get much playing time in club because of a contract dispute between Barcelona and Athletico but Deschamps trusted him although he didn't do well with France in the Nations league from June to September. I would say that he is probably France's most important player.

Massimo Irritanti was the VAR technician for today's game...even minnows are represented.

Who am I kidding, the current Azzurri could beat any one of these Selects. The Euro hangover did them in.

Magic Messi turned on the dribbling with that third assist goal .

You gotta respect the Croats, a population of only 4 million and they put out great soccer players. they beat great brazil and they went to the finals 4 years ago.
