Although his defensive play improved considerably, it's a bit of a surprise. Good for him and congrats. He goes back on the ball well and has an excellent arm. He also has a lot of range which is unexpected because of his size. I see room for improvement in some other aspects of his defensive play but no major liabilities and he is probably working on them. Because there is no dominant defensive 1st baseman in the AL, Vladdy could win this a bunch of more times, especially if he continues to improve. I hope he finds a better glove. The ball slipped through the webbing of his glove for errors at least twice last season.

That would be good. He uses a Wilson and like I said, at least twice the ball squirted through the gaps in the webbing of his glove on routine plays that should have been easy outs.

This is great for him - defence always wins games and its nice to see him win especially with the fact that he moved positions. Really happy for him as you can see he actually worked for it - what a improvement defensively.

Vladdy may be thick of build but he has Sr's agility which allowed him to adapt quickly to 1st. I hope that next year he doesn't get hbp on the wrist again. You can't let his nad slapping buddy Aaron Judge have all the fun.
