It has been totally obvious [ even before his latest miss-step ] that this guy was an absolute scum of the earth. The fact that these huge international companies got involved with him shows their stupidity as well. Is there no one out there that they could find that has some decent qualities and use for advertising purposes ?

You know, when I see the media hanging him out to dry (and the shit he says doesn’t help) I’m reminded of how the media played with Anna Nichol Smith’s mental health while making her tv show and how she was the punchline when she just needed real help.

I hope someone can get thru to him. I don’t care for his music, I just don’t like to see people with mental health issues being hung out to dry for the public’s entertainment.

Here is my issue. When you know you have a mental illness, you have a responsibility to yourself and to society and the people around you to get the treatment that you need to maintain your illness because your symptoms often impact others negatively unlike any other illness. Cancer negatively impacts people - yes but not like someone having a manic episode.

So he knows he has one and instead of getting help, he uses it as a crutch to “get away” with shit. He said just the other week that he can say the “R” word because he has a mental illness. The guy is getting everything he deserves in my opinion.

Has anyone here ever dealt with someone with severe bi polar disorder?

It's so easy to say, that they should just get the treatment they need. "Oh sure, just go get your treatment, you fool, like anyone else would do."
You are judging them by the same standards as you judge someone without the disorder, which you can't do.

When they are manic, in their reality they don't need treatment or medication. And in fact they can be extremely set in that belief. Why? Because the disorder itself causes them to believe this, and in extreme cases, no one can convince them otherwise until they crash.
They are about as in control over this as someone is in control over their own Cancer.

Attacking him won’t help with his problem, it’s more likely he and his fans will see this as proof of persecution and make him more godlike.
As with Trump this may unfortunately play out for a long time.

I have experience and I still have this opinion.

This is why they need treatment, this is why we need supports and better mental health programs, education, etc

They can be in control, bi-polar is a manageable disorder. I get the issue, the feel good and feel they don’t need the meds anymore, I get it all. Doesn’t change my opinion. They have a responsibility. West uses his mental health issues as an excuse for negative behaviour. He knows he has the issues and refuses to get the treatment needed to stop negative impact it is having on others. That is on him.

He has?
He has kept his mental health issues very private, and did not speak publicly about them until fairly recently. And he has gone and sought treatment for it on many occasions. He was in treatment near the end of his marriage to Kim.
And Bi-polar is not always manageable. It depends on the severity of the disorder the person has.
It was not manageable for my Uncle I can tell you that. It controlled his life for years no matter what treatment or medication he was put on until it caused him to take his life. So in that end, yes, maybe he found a final way to manage it.

I’m sorry about your uncle. My opinion doesn’t change. I have seen and experienced differently. We are both guided by our own experiences I guess and therefore, I just don’t agree that it is not manageable and I disagree that those with bi-polar lack the need for responsibility to manage it.

We will just have to agree to disagree

So what? Strip him of the privilege and power that comes with all the media attention, then let him seek the help he needs in his own time...

We could have, but the media love and profit from his outbursts. The public even chose him to lead the country.

There was so much at stake. And he had (has?) the resources to get the best support in the world. But his arrogance wouldn't let him seek the help he so desperately needed. He claimed Adidas wouldnt dare drop him even with his anti-Semitism. He obviously thought wrong. Shame

Sort of…. Sometime the voices tell you that you are right, and you are the victim, and everybody else is wrong. Sometimes the disease gives you a lack of accountability.

I hate his music, but I do feel bad for the guy. He is clearly not well.

10% of Adidas sales were Yeesy shoes. They have taken a $250 million profit hit by dropping the line. Had no idea his shoes were so popular or profitable. $2.5 billion West equity gone. Just like that
