I agree with voting against it. We cannot afford it without making cuts elsewhere. Money doesn’t grow on trees and a recession is coming.

I paid for my dentistry until I got a job that paid for it through benefits.

Then why is Poilievre getting the Free Dental coverage from the taxpayers money for years now?

Reacting to the Conservatives' refusal to back the dental benefit plan, in a separate interview on Sunday's show, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said it was "rich" that Poilievre won't support more Canadians getting dental coverage.

"I'm not surprised the Conservatives are opposed to it. You know, it's going to be rich for someone like Pierre Poilievre to defend this when he's been receiving free dental care, paid for by public dollars, since his mid 20s," Singh said. "And he thinks it's wrong for the rest of Canadians who don't have coverage, to get coverage? I'd like to see him try to defend that."

I'll assume that he aimed to get a job that provided those benefits. JT is a millionaire. We should examine what he grifts as well.

My point is that the taxpayer can only pay so much. Budgets in other areas have to be trimmed or completely cut. Free Dental is one of them. Childcare should be another. Unfortunately, the current Ruling Party believes they can keep spending and spending.

Get a job with benefits from the taxpayer. Yet the same taxpayer that cannot afford the basic dental plan should go on funding his expenses. Wow!!
Is Childcare unacceptable and then mothers have to stay at home as they cannot afford it.
We know that Canada's Government is spending far more efficiently with the lower inflation and helping those that were left jobless due to the Pandemic.
The previous Harper Government had a surplus that they inherited, and yet they increased the deficit. All Governments are in that situation!!

The taxpayer should do something about it.... Insist their MP should propose the removal of this benefit. Vote accordingly. The option is not to make it free for everyone as Canada cannot afford it. If we could afford it, I'd be in favour.

Able-bodied parents should pay for their own kids. My parents did, I did, etc. I believe Dad's should work (more if they have to), so the Mom's can stay home full-time until the kid goes into JK/Kindergarten. We were sole-income for years as my wife was not eligible for Maternity. We did it. I worked more. I did this under the Harper era. I also believe that Dental care should come before Childcare.

My life has gotten worse since JT came into power. I did very well under Harper and well under the Chretien/Martin era (back when the Liberals were more Centre).

This is why the NDP will never form a coalition with the Cons. At best the Cons can win a minority government in the 2025 election. Every bill they try to pass will be voted down.

This is the way things should be. Have a minority government voted down (or out) too often and the public will make changes. We've all seen political decimation before.

No one is making it "Free For Everyone" though the Poilievre is getting it for free. For now it is just for children who do not have the Dental Coverage. It is intended eventually for Seniors who are on pensions and cannot afford the sky high dental fees as not all companies cover their Pensioners. The NDP of course wants coverage for all Canadians.

Parents are working sometimes two jobs etc, but still cannot afford it when the minimum wage increase which the Ford Government scrapped and now is just offering a few cents more is an insult to those who work long hours. putting food on the table is a priority. But there are a lot of Canadians who were severely affected by the layoffs under the Harper Government, with unemployment that rose dramatically. Under Trudeau there were more jobs created in one month as compared to one full year under Harper. The economy was booming and so was my business until the Pandemic hit. It affected all nations around the Globe. Childcare is very popular and all the provinces eventually embraced it. Gives mothers an opportunity to earn the extra income to supplement their spouses meagre income in numerous instances. I will embrace this Dental care if it is offered to Seniors who just do not have the income to see a Dentist.

My life has gotten worse since JT came into power. I did very well under Harper and well under the Chretien/Martin era (back when the Liberals were more Centre).
Once again most Canadians and my business thrived under Trudeau until the Pandemic hit. Canada handled this Pandemic far better than most nations around the Globe include that previous POTUS down South, who was a complete and utter disaster. Under Harper there was a recession with high jobless numbers and a stagnant economy for most of his reign!!

As a super simple example: Each Middle-Class taxpayer used to pay $100. That was never enough to cover all the spending prior to inflation. Now with inflation, each Middle-Class taxpayer can only afford to pay $80 dollars... Now what? Do we still carry on with these promises? Where does the money come from?

Things are not working here and they won't... If you're having a tough time surviving in Ontario, then you should move. Alberta or the East Coast would love to have you come and raise your family. Or you should change jobs. For example, the Construction industry is short at least 150,000 tradespeople (these jobs can be Unionized and companies pay benefits).

I'm as white as snow, so perhaps a TERBite of another origin can comment... In my experience, my Brown brothers have no problem supporting PP. They cannot wait for the change.

[Again, I'd like to state that I believe in small-C and just Right of Centre policies. It is a shame the Parties have abandoned Centre... We now are trapped in pendulum swings]

This is conjecture. Anecdotally, I would say the opposite. Just because other Nations are more of a disaster does not mean JT & Gang should get off the hook. They work for us. Expect near-perfection.

... that previous POTUS down South, who was a complete and utter disaster.
That scary orange man, was responsible for "Operation: Warp Speed" (vaccine creation) and predicted the calamity that is the Ukraine-Russian War. Go look it up.

Under Harper there was a recession with high jobless numbers and a stagnant economy for most of his reign!!
The man gets credit for Canada 'surviving' the 2008 Meltdown. Merkel, Modi, etc. meet Harper with open arms. JT gets fluffed off. I didn't notice a stagnant economy... Things were gangbusters for me under Harper (and good under Chretien/Martin).

Pee Pee cozying up with the far right and supporting those who were blocking Trade between Canada and the USA will come to haunt him. Can you imagine if all the Canadians rushed to push their savings into the cryptocurrency and at the time that he was glorifying as a means to combat inflation, then they would have lost half their savings in this gamble. So their $100 would be down to $50 at a snap of the finger!!

Then he wants to fire The Bank of Canada Governor. That would have been a disaster. However, he wants the richest to get bigger tax breaks and does not take Climate Change seriously.
Once Canadians have figured out his true colours, then better the Devil that they know in power rather than The Real Brutal Satan on the sidelines!!

Explain to me what this is and what the concern is. It sounds random.

There is a place for Crypto. That is shaping up. I do believe that Governments (currently in power) want cryptocurrencies to fail until they can control it. If Canadians gamble their savings away, that is their fault. Perhaps we should focus on financial literacy and planning in school? That'll cost money too! Let's skip paying for Dental Care.

Then he wants to fire The Bank of Canada Governor.
Did he not fail in his job?

That would have been a disaster.
Conjecture. Why?

However, he wants the richest to get bigger tax breaks
Ambiguous target.

... and does not take Climate Change seriously.
Climate Change should be studied more so. Currently, it is being used to scare and control. As such, it should be investigated through Science (and not the David Suzuki type of scientist).

Once Canadians have figured out his true colours, then better the Devil that they know in power rather than The Real Brutal Satan on the sidelines!!

The really brilliant and really qualified people never run for office. They are too busy being true successes... And they may have seen a hooker or two (look up the history of Mackenzie King!)...

Our current PM was a Drama Teacher and Snowboard Instructor (and did a whole bunch of other bad things)... Surely the Liberal Party can find a better qualified leader? I miss Jack Layton and even Tom Mulcair.

If this is conjecture, then you prove the point that Harper took a thriving economy with surpluses that he inherited and turned into into one that was in full blown recession and with a ballooning deficit. He should have worked for the Canadians but was always not too transparent in how he operated!!

That scary orange man, was responsible for "Operation: Warp Speed" (vaccine creation) and predicted the calamity that is the Ukraine-Russian War. Go look it up.

That is hilarious that he predicted anything of that sort. Especially, as all the Intel Agencies warned that Putin was planning the war well over a year in advance. Look at the actual facts!!

Hahaha, Once again Trudeau got a better trade deal with India than Harper did. That is a fact and look it up. Harper spent $1.2 million flying his security vehicles to India and managed a trade deal of just $350 million for Cameco's exports of minerals to India. They talked of free trade that never materialized. Trudeau on the other hand got a $1 billion trade deal.
Merkel met Trudeau several times and Trudeau managed to sew up a trade deal with the EU. Something that Harper worked on but could not complete!!

The economy lost jobs under Harper, and the eventual job growth rate was slow and cumbersome. Once again unemployment was the lowest under Trudeau in 2019.
Let us look at the actual Statistics and then comment, okay?

The libs could've easily won a majority with someone else, things may change again in the future but right now he's a liability.
