The difference is left wing people I see complaining about what they see as hateful views aren't also spending their days pretending that only their right to free speech is essential. And yes, calling out someone as racist IS free speech. I only see one side trying to use the government to prevent views they don't like (CRT, Don't say Gay, etc).

As a specifically stupid example is when people complain about the "woke" mob "cancelling" things when in reality is pure capitalist ideas. People who don't like certain companies actions use their economic power to either support or avoid them and companies cater towards potential customers, not based on theoretical concepts but rather on what they think will best protect their bottom line.



More importantly, most people on the left and some on the right just get on with their lives trying to make things better for the people around them.
