It's more of a 'heads up' that the MA he was inquiring was not available.

My day to day life doesn't happen in English.
The only English lessons I had were ESL in French schools. I know that I don't always use the right word or expression to convey my message. It's not the first time and certainly not the last time that I'm taken up on this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

The essence of my OP was that I appreciated the manager telling me that service may not be at the same level I'm used to. That's all.
