Over the years, I've dealt with clients (including regulars) that have pulled a no-show or cancelation and instead of paying my fee, they decide to ghost me or cut communication.
This is an unfortunate part of the profession, especially the no-show which is utterly disrespectful.
When this happens, I keep track and even if I delete our conversation, it all reappears once you text me again.
I am also very good at remembering faces.
Lately, I have encountered quite a bit of sneaky behaviour from multiple ex-clients...
There are four types:
1 - The client who waits a year or so hoping you will forget about their bad behaviour and/or the owed fee
2 - The client who uses a text app to attempt a booking and when I say I require a true number for booking, they agree and their true number ends up revealing that I blacklisted them when their old conversations with me appear
3 - The client who attempts to book via email or social media, and as above, I still require a true phone number and they reveal themselves
4 - The client who has a new true phone number, gets past the screening and shows up hoping you will forget or not remember
So onto the PSA portion...
CLIENTS, DON'T DO THIS! Especially the 4th type because it puts in person pressure on the provider!
If you did not appreciate or respect your provider enough to pay their cancelation fee or at the very least tell them you cannot make the appointment and reschedule, then you made your bed and if you regret it later, too bad so sad.
Being sneaky and trying to trick the provider into booking you under false pretenses is absolutely NOT OK.
If you are truly sorry, contact them, be honest about who you are and what you did, and offer to pay the fee before asking them to give you another chance if they choose to.
That doesn't mean offering to pay the fee in person (fool me once, you know the saying), that means via Etransfer, PayPal, gift card, or whatever method they require. They may even require you prepay your second chance booking.
Please respect your SW, we are worth it!
