Well IMO if you want to be a politician in democratic society, you may as well be prepared for stuff like that. The red neck expressed himself in the only manner he knows.. lol. I would take exception if either Chrystia or Crystal were harassed on the street by random unruly extremist strangers like that guy. Threatening someone does not automatically mean it is within the "legal boundaries" even if violence was not involved and is definitely not what democracy is all about. If a woman decided to stand up to such a despicable individual, what would the outcome then be? Definitely not a peaceful resolution, involving handshakes!!
Freeland was born and brought up in Alberta and it is like her home Province. She spends time there and used to go cycling on her own. Can you imagine how much that has affected her sense of security since that incident. Hopefully, the Police do arrest or charge that individual as such behaviour is totally unacceptable on any of our Canadian streets. Period!!

No one, be it politicians, clergyman, businessman, sports players, migrants from another nation, workers and their respective family members should be subjected to such threats. Take the example of Catherine McKenna who constantly received threats against her family and her Office was smeared with graffiti. So she decided not to run again in the General Elections. Is this not sad Sweetheart as Canada is a True Democracy and not an Autocratic type State.
We can expect it in those type of nations, where the opposition gets threats, are jailed on trumped up charges and are even killed when they do not toe the Government line!! Well this individual is being investigated and if the cops do nothing about it then it could set a sad precedent!!
