1982 Long Beach (Mario Andretti, Williams FW07C).jpg

Mario Andretti in his only drive for Williams, 1982 Long Beach Grand Prix. He filled in for Carlos Reutemann, who quit F1 after the Brazilian Grand Prix, (round 2). Keke Rosberg was elevated to number one driver for Williams, and won the Drivers' Championship that year, despite winning only one race. Eleven different drivers won At least one Grand Prix in 1982, and none won more than two.

1971 Monza (Emerson Fittipaldi, Lotus 56B).jpg

Emerson Fittipaldi in the gas turbine, four-wheel-drive Lotus 56B with Pratt and Whitney engine, Monza, 1971. The chassis design is radical, but the car was a disappointment. Fittipaldi brought it home in 8th place, one lap adrift.

Jim Clark at Spa-Francorchamps, 1965 Belgian Grand Prix, leading by 25 seconds after lap 2. The full race on the old 14.12 km Spa circuit was 16 laps. Clark won his first six Grands Prix in 1965. He did not contest the Monaco Grand Prix that year, because he was in America on the same day, winning the Indianapolis 500.

This part of the track, approaching Eau Rouge, was the location of the start-finish line on the old course, last used for F1 in 1970. Today the start-finish line is a few hundred meters back, before the La Source hairpin. That part of the track is part of both the old and new circuits.

I think he will regret that. Stroll must have backed up the Brinks truck to his door.
Lance is the worst driver since marzepan.

I do want to go on record as saying that if my dad owned an F1 team and made me drive for his team, I would be dead and probably take out a couple drivers and several hundred fans.

A 14 km track would make a 21 lap race today. Pass

These days going to Spa means putting up with Max fans and their stupid fucking smoke sticks or whatever they call them. Imagine spending a fortune on travel and tickets just to sit next to herr toxic.

Sorry, the Grand Prix race distance was 32 laps on the 14.12 km Spa circuit.

Ricciardo is out at McLaren. No surprise really.

Soon as Zak said back in May there are "mechanism's" in his contract, Danny knew the end was near. Don't feel sad for Danny, he gets a nice $15M pay out.

I wish SkySport would hire him and fire Nico R. He would be great with Martin and the rest of the gang.
