Didn't the legalized pot advocates tell us that it would help reduce overdoses from opioids? Oops got that one wrong.
The fentanyl that is coming in is mostly being illegally transported through the US-Mexican border which under Biden has been woefully insecure.
Apparently the Chinese are behind tis manufacture. Of course Biden didn't bring it up on his call with Xi earlier in the week.

It's stopping you from driving which is good, but some people would still try
I always take taxis or Uber when I go barhopping.
Not worth getting a criminal record over a DUI, or worse do a Muzzo and take out a whole family

THERE IS NO SOLUTION !!! THIS IS QUITE OBVIOUS TO ME. Even somewhat " normal " people want to participate in high risk behaviour, which sometimes leads to their death. From taking drugs, to driving way too fast , to smoking. It is up to each one of us.

Unfortunately as life keeps getting more complicated more and more people develop severe mental issues which they often try to minimize with drugs etc. It is not up to society to solve the individual's problems, maybe society mental health professionals can help, but mostly it is up the the person to find a way to either minimize or resolve their problems or to destroy their lives or to possibly kill themselves either by suicide or by drug overdoses.

There is no fix, some people are not ready to stop, unless you force them by injecting a product that takes the high away and lasts a long time. There are not enough rehabs and treatment centers, and they're expensive. The government doesn't want to pay for that, its cheaper to let them OD.
It must hurt you enough to make you stop drugging, drinking, overeating, smoking or you must be sick and tired of being sick and tired. .

I think the majority of you in this thread need to steer away from medical advice and mental health and addiction advice since kn==none of you are trained professionals and thank god your not because some of the postings in this thread are so cold hearted I think some of you sound like psychopaths.

last I checked were on an escort board and your suggesting people that are hookers should start walking dogs ya that will pay for a pack of smokes please get realistic
Are you saying it's ok for a "hooker" to break into someone's car and steal something from someone instead of doing a job like walking dogs? What makes a "hooker" any different than a teenage kid that does this for a pack of smokes? Why can a "hooker" not walk dogs or cut grass?Seems to me that you have pigeonholed "hookers"

Not at all.......but if you get your government money and you pay your rent bills food and check is gone on day one like most that get it ANYTHING those poor people need isn't available to them so that is why people end up stealing. Fuck when I was homeless 10 years ago ill admit I stole a bag of nuts from a grocery store cause I didn't eat in 3 days but I can honestly say in 3 months being homeless I stole once for food. or I was literarily going to pass out.

As Spunky pointed out, there are other ways to make money. Ones addiction does not ever trump anyone's personal belongings. Far too many people live paycheck to paycheck and they could be stealing food from a child because of this.

I disagree respectfully with that premise. There is always a solution. Probably not easy, or cheap…. But there is always a solution.

And do you not think that the number of addicts constantly stealing, dealing, and using up hospital resources is less expensive? It’s not just overdoses. The damage they do to themselves requires medical treatment for years… drug plans... They are on ODSP or welfare because they can’t work. And police and court resources.

Do you know your taxes pay for cab rides for daily methadone treatments for people on ODSP… and hospital visits. And walk-in clinic visits. Did you know some of them pretend to go to appts and use the free rides to travel across town? You know, fraud. Our caseworkers are far to overworked to check up, and many are in the caseworker role briefly, and don’t care. They get paid well. Another gov’t expense.

No I haven't because I have busted my behind to get what I have. I do have a family member that suffered with addiction and the root of it caused by mental health, he went to a doctor and followed his prescriptions and is now recovered and a productive member of the working society.

I say child because it's an example, please follow along. They dont know whom they are stealing from, it could be a family living paycheck to paycheck struggling to feed the next meal for a child. Stop twisting shit.

This is a tough one to respond to because I have no idea what it means.

Recently, a random stranger started a conversation with me on the street about my bike and bikes in general.

Anyway, turns out he gets over $1,100 for free every month. He pays $400 for a room. (No, not a mansion in Rosedale.) He travels by bike. He uses the computers in the library. So, what does he do with the $700 after paying rent for his room?
