It's why I'm flying the Jolly Rodger again after almost a decade.

Sure, but it gets much worse when it's a central plot point. A few shows don't have one, Stovetop League for example. Hotel De Luna is another if I remember right.But... but... what if she decides to pick the other pretty boy she tripped over?
But yeah I'm talking about shows where romance isn't necessarily the primary focus but it's still there, lurking in the background, ready to spring a sappy song at you...
If you wanna watch a really bad "reality TV" series watch "Fboy Island". The premise is 3 skanky girls are sent to a secluded island resort with 13 nice guys and 13 "fuck boys".
The goal of the nice guys is to get chosen romantically by one of the girls, share $100,000 with the girl, and see where it goes from there. The fuck boys are playing to get chosen by one of the ladies, and if one of them does he gets to keep the whole $100,000 for himself.
I was curious, but only lasted half way through the first episode before I turned it off...
The premise is almost identical to the 2004 Fox reality show Playing it Straight, cancelled after three episodes. That doesn't surprise me, "Nice Guys" are usually the most shallow douchebags in existence, only they'll give some bullshit line about how they "have standards!" I always want to ask guys if they really think they'll have anything in common with the gym bunny party girls they're convinced are meant to be theirs. I also always tell them that if women really only dated "assholes", most of them would have no problem getting a girlfriend. If you wanna watch a really bad "reality TV" series watch "Fboy Island". These are on my to watch list. For those who don't know, The Man in the High Castle, (4 seasons; 40 episodes, 2015-19), is about an alternative history where the Axis powers won World War II, and the Japanese control the Western USA, the Germans control the east, and the midwest is 'relatively' free America. Canada is not occupied by either of the Axis powers. I've only seen season 1, episode 1 so far.I just started watching The Man in the High Castle on Prime. Dunno if I'm going to stick with it. I always enjoyed Philip K. Dick's short stories more than his novels and the book the show is based on is no different.
Speaking of show's based on Dick's work, I was sort of disappointed that Electric Dreams, the anthology series that adapted a bunch of his short stories, didn't get a second season. Sure, the first one was hit and miss and they botched the adaptation of one of my favorite Dick stories, 'The Impossible Planet' but I would have liked to have seen them adapt some of his other stories, including 'The Defenders', a story I'm surprised that the Wachowskis didn't cite as an influence on the Matrix given its plot of machines creating illusions for humans hiding underground in a post-apocalyptic world.
I watched the whole thing and loved it.I just started watching The Man in the High Castle on Prime. Dunno if I'm going to stick with it. I always enjoyed Philip K. Dick's short stories more than his novels and the book the show is based on is no different.
Lucifer is loosely based on Gaiman's work. I only saw the first three seasons but I absolutely loved it. The supernatural element and Tom Ellis' "Charming douchebag" performance saves it from being another "Cop working with a quirky partner they have 'Will they or won't they?' romantic tension with" procedural.2 things I've been binging this month that I really enjoyed are:
See (AppleTV +) which is a great post-apocalyptic dystopian starring Jason Momoa
The Sandman, just landed on Netflix and after a couple episodes I'm hooked!! I haven't read much Neil Gaiman but I think I should because every time they turn his work into a movie/tv show I'm blown away.
Umbrella Academy is fantastic. Stranger Things even better but the episode lengths are massive so plan accordingly.Lucifer is loosely based on Gaiman's work. It's on my list of shows I'm planning to watch/get caught up on now that I have Netflix. I'm currently playing catch-up with The Flash and I also have Stranger Things and The Umbrella Academy on the go.
I remember watching the Much Music footage and being shocked. But the reality was so much worse. Just straight up shitshow from every direction!Currently watching on NETFLIX.
Umbrella Academy and Stranger Things are 2 of my favourite series' of the last few years. And UA is local so spotting all my favourite places is fun. They shot much of the first season down the street from my old place.Lucifer is loosely based on Gaiman's work. I only saw the first three seasons but I absolutely loved it.
