Time to bring in the private sector, if one thing is for sure, public ONLY health care is a disaster
No we don't need it to be private like the shit hole US.Where people get denied the right of healthcare because of lack of insurance. We need a premier that spends 10 billion in healthcare and not a fuckin highway that will save you 60 seconds of time. Ford is a jackass.

Do you love Rob Ford and will be one of the few
profiteering off the suffering of the many?
Next let’s privatize all schools, old age care, (what’s left of it). What other public programs should be slashed so a few can make more money?

Excess government intervention and regulations hamper many good doctors entering the profession and hence it causes lack of doctors almost in all areas and terrible wait times even in ERs. There were cases when people died because medical help did not arrive in time. Appalling!
What is concerning is the death of 5 doctors at relatively young ages.

We also need citizens who take better care of themselves so they don't need medical services. Yes, I know it's obvious but worth repeating. Don't smoke and don't drink excessively is a good start.

It's because of staffing shortages, just like many many businesses throughout the world. It has nothing to do with throwing cash to build more space. Look at travel, try to buy a new car, go to a hospital. It's all related to longer waits do to employee shortage, not your precious Doug Ford. Look around instead of forming an uneducated opinion.

Why can't we have both?

I'd gladly pay money to not have to wait 6+ hours in a so called "Emergency Room".
If you have kids, or elderly, parents, are you going to like shelling out a few K for each visit? Even if you can, most out their cannot.
Also there are many that abuse the system.
Whether they are new to the country, or are 4th-5th generation CDN.

Let the rich spend their money how they want. If they want shorter access, and better healthcare, and are willing to pay for it, does it really harm others? It will probably help, as they would not be using the public system, and free up resources. Just like private schools and public schools. Society is already divided between the haves and have nots. Should wealthy people be able to live better lives than us? If we are in a free country, the answer should be yes.

To build a good, stable, upwardly mobile, and prosperous society, you need to provide healthcare and education to your citizens; systems in place so you don’t have to worry about how your aging parents will be taken care, and also childcare.

Too many greedy people out only for profit at the expense of the many.
Don’t be fooled, it’s always been profit over people.
Please show me one system where it is truly people over profit. Please.

I believe there is a private hospital in Toronto no worries you will see the dominos effect of more procedures not being covered by ship the longer Fords in office he tried to cut the ophthalmologist eye tests to even the poor but they fought back hard because you need to understand over 100k people are on disability and welfare that can't afford food never mind procedures.

Cancer comes to anyone at any age whether fit or obese. Medications cause obesity for some and some poor people can't afford to eat healthy hence the sickness.if they eat a bag of chips for 2$ they wont be buying the 6 $grapes. We know the food pricing for healthy food is a privedge its so sad that the poor can't afford fruits and veggies. The food banks load the 150k people up with tons of carbs sugars and salt. then some of those welfare people end up disabled with health problems. if you've never been poor and never had anyone to help you not be poor its a challenge to be healthy poor.

How many internationally trained nurses and physicians are here not working in these roles?? It’s time to look to solutions that are already here Over 400 women from the Phil;lipines were trained nurses but because our immigration is so strict with accepting there degrees foreignly these philipina women became caregivers and nanny to many people in Ontario for example Ford doesn't like giving the qualified jobs in Ontario to foreigners yes hes a jacklass. and id go as far as calling him a racist.

That's why I asked, Why not both? Nothing wrong with having options.

It's called a declining society. It happens, read a history book.

And honestly, most of the time these ophthalmologist put drops in your eyes and ask you to read letters off the wall. How much should we really be paying for that?

So, what happened to the staff? I'm pretty old with not the best memory, but I can still remember the pre Covid world, all them years ago. We had problems, but nowhere near the shit show we're witnessing now.

First off, this is a Canadian thing, not a Doug Ford thing. It's the same in every province, Doug Ford is the premier of Ontario. Secondly, when nurses, doctors, or any other person decides to immigrate here there are policies and process with recognizing their degree and experience, its laid out pretty easy and many if not all can have this recognized within a year of being in Canada. The staffing shortages have been happening for much longer than a year so what have these 400 nurses done to help themselves? You're grasping at straws to support some idea in your mind that simply is not the case. You need to understand the different between federal and provincial policies before blaming. Again please educate yourself on these things.
