Crickets from the anti gun supporters who are willing to let the Liberal government ignore the democratic process as long as it forwards their agenda.

RCMP held back senior Mountie's controversial notes about commissioner for months, inquiry says (msn.com)

Based on Campbell's qualifications as a homicide team commander and major crimes team leader, he's much more qualified than the Commissioner on how to run an investigation.

I honestly do not see a problem with this. There is no allegation that the govt tried to distort the findings of the commission, hide the truth or change or alter any info. AT WORST they just asked the RCMP commissioner to release additional information that may assist them in obtaining political and public support to restrict weapons used in this hideous criminal rampage. WTF is wrong with that. only a hardcore Freedumb gun nut would be offended by this. IMHO this honors the memory of the victims and provides hope that their deaths were not in vain.

This is of concern to Bergen, especially while reading from script and then her angry eyes move constantly in the direction of the Government side of the aisle:

Herein lies the problem. You can't see why it's wrong to bypass the democratic process or demand holdback evidence as determined by investigators be released before the real police could examine and find out the origins of the weapons and find the people involved in providing the weapons.

You have a highly experienced homicide and major crimes investigator trying to ensure the integrity of the investigation being bullied by an underqualified Commissioner for the sole purpose of forwarding an agenda that targeted law abiding citizens who own firearms.

Just look at the stark contrast in level of qualifications of Lucki vs. Campbell. She's a puppet that doesn't know what she's doing.

RCMP executive | Royal Canadian Mounted Police (rcmp-grc.gc.ca)

The firearms used were illegally obtained from the United States. Instead of introducing laws to stem the flow of illegal arms, the Liberal Government bypassed the democratic process and targeted ordinary people and used an Order in Council to ban legally owned firearms, which has done absolutely NOTHING to prevent the level of gun violence in Canada because they didn't go after the right group. Guns still flow across the border and little to no money or increase in enforcement to stem the tide has occurred.

There's serious ethical issues with the behaviour of the Commissioner and the Liberal Party.

This is also why the new handgun proposals have been delayed until the fall.

In terms of material effect, you may be right.
That said, notes of a whole meeting not being in one submission and then in another is never a good sign.
Trudeau's government has a rep already for playing fast and lose with oversight, messaging, and transparency, so that they are getting push back on this makes sense.
In the end, it may not be a big deal overall, but they don't have a huge cushion of goodwill to fall back on so if this was deliberate and not just an error, they deserve some sleepless nights. (Even if it did little to the investigation, if they did it deliberately to massage the optics, they still deserve some slaps for it.)

I don't see enough evidence to support the above point of view. What percentage of shootings are conducted with illegal vs legally registered firearms. (and TBH I am not concerned with suicides so eliminate those from the total). I would love to see this data. It must exist for someone to make the above assertion.

Who exactly are the gun runners bringing guns and munitions into Canada and who are the drug smugglers bringing in Fentanyl components from Mexico and China ? If the local gangs are supplied, they will continue to shoot and deal.
I don't know, and I'm guessing the police don't know because they haven't had the money or manpower allocated to deal with the problem.

The Liberal government seem to think it's a wiser decision to punish people who have taken a firearms course, had a background check completed on them, and agreed to be run daily by the Canadian Police Information Centre for criminal offences and registering their firearms. Their solution is banning their property instead of providing law enforcement resources to step up border monitoring, fund an investigative task force and significantly increase punishments for illegal possession.

It's certainly cheaper to ban firearms than to find out where the illegal ones are coming from. Fools the public into thinking you've done something when in fact you've done nothing.
