I was in London around the same time. I was in a bar and the whole team was in there. I remember the big nose hunter brother being there. Hockey has a lot of dirty secrets.
The big nose Hunter who was coaching Canada at the time was Tim Hunter, he is no relation to Mark and Dale Hunter.
This scandal is turning into a complete shit show for Hockey Canada. Virtually all major sponsors for the WJC one of their marquee events are pulling their funding which will be very problematic going forward.
I can also see this escalating to where those former WJC players who participated in the alleged assaults will wind up having their names published. This could have a shockwave effect on the NHL as there are some considerable names that were members on that WJC team in 2018 and based on numbers listed could be implicated:
Cale Makar
Cal Foote
Victor Mete
Max Comtois
Jordan Kyrou
Rob Thomas
Carter Hart
Dillon Dube
Drake Batherson
Sam Steel
Alex Formenton

Mete published a statement, he had already left for Jamaica.
The biggest name on there is Makar, hart and Comtois I believe?
We are not in 1978 anymore... Such thing would have been buried easily.
It is a shame that these things have happened, but why are they penalizing everyone associated with Hockey Canada?
The people who committed the acts, the people who were in charge and failed to act on it, and those who helped cover it up should be outed and terminated.
There are many, many other dedicated hard working people who are caught up in this mess and had no idea it had happened.
Hopefully it will not get swept under the carpet but money talks and our court system can be bought.

Mete, who was part of the 2017-18 world junior team, says he "will fully cooperate" with any investigations.
They were penalizing Hockey Canada because they settled this out of court. There is no transparency about this situation, and the Hockey Canada investigation was incomplete. They tried to sweep it under the rug, but it got exposed, and now the government wants to know how they paid for it -- was it public money or sponsors money. And, the sponsors aren't thrilled that their cash went to this.
Eight young men allegedly did something horrible. We're not sure what happened here, because, again, no transparency. We don't know what the allegations were besides sexual assault, which is a very vague catch-all phrase that could range from gang rape to grabbing her breasts...
Yes, to be fair to the current juniors, like Connor Bedard, who are not tainted by the 2018 mess.
BTW: One lawyer (Goldkind) said a player cannot be legally compelled to participate in the investigation.
My post was made before Mete provided a public comment on the matter, but yes, I am throwing out potential names that could be implicated. It's a limited roster size, and given the numbers stated of the unnamed who were involved, it's not a stretch to see some on the list I posted have a strong likelihood of being among the accused.So you’re just throwing names out?
