Single use plastics will be banned in the future. I don't get why plastic shopping bags being on the list, I'm assuming every uses them as garbage bags after buying groceries like I do. If they will be no longer, what do we use for garbage bags?>>>>>GLAD PLASTIC GARBAGE BAGS!!!

I hate paper straws, they have to come up with something else.
Like drinking out of a glass like an adult vs. a child? Maybe you could get a sippy cup....
Lots of grocery stores and fast food restaurants have already started getting rid of plastic. Take out at Swiss Chalet have started using cardboard containers.
Personally I think plastic is a bigger environmental issue than the use of fossil fuels.

HealthyPlanet has bio-degradable "plastic" bags. And they give them out for free with each purchase.
So.........what happened to recycling?
I put all my plastics in the Recycling bin, like they told us to do decades ago. As do most people on my street, and most people in general I wager.
Why isn't this shit getting recycled then? That is what they told us they were doing with it. Recycling it all. So what is the fucking problem?
It couldn't be that the powers that be were lying to us all these years about this stuff getting recycled, could it. That the bullshit line we were fed years ago about how we all had to do our part and separate our garbage for recycling, in order to save ourselves, was just that. Bullshit.
So if all this shit isn't getting recycled, why am I still being forced to separate out all this shit from my garbage, and put it in the recycling bin, and if it is being recycled, why the fuck does it need to be banned?

When I was a kid there were no plastic grocery bags, only brown paper bags,and they seemed to work just fine
I also remember the paper bags at the grocery store. Then they switched to plastic since we were cutting down too many trees and plastic bags were the solution. I guess no one though about the landfills etc on that one.
Maybe you haven’t gotten out much but they don’t serve drinks in glasses at fast food stores. They give you a straw and I hate paper straws, I don’t like the taste of paper in my drink. Sounds like you do so you enjoy it.
This is a much better solution than using paper, I recently shopped at Farm boy and they put my groceries in a paper bag with handles. Needless to say the handle broke within 10 seconds. You’re probably better off having no bag at all like they do at Costco.
I don't get it. The product description states "material - Plastic" How does this cut down on the use of plastic, again?
I am not all up in this but from what I understand, people in the third world just toss their plastics in the open and in rivers to horrifying degrees and that shit gets in the ocean which is a bad thing. A very extremely small portion of that is from western sources so we have to stop using plastics.

I heard electric car batteries also create an environmental hazard when it's time to dispose of them.
Sometimes I forget to bring my reusable bags to do grocery shopping, last month at Walmart , they give me a cardboard bag for 5 cents, and it rip when I was in the parking lot, it should be free. I hate those grocery stores especially no frills at self checkout, they don't put the plastic bags on the racks , the fuckin cashier had it on her hands, you got asked how much you want, she then punch in the the self check. I told her the bags should be free. At metro and shoppers drugmart, they have the plastic bags at the racks , I can take how many bags I want, I don't add it on the self checkout.
It says it’s biodegradable plastic, probably very similar to the one you use in your compost bin.
It's just another distraction from what is really going on. We are being robbed blind and it's just a beginning.
