And how often in Canada is there a home invasion with the intent to kill (not directly connected to gang activity)?
And why there should be an intend to kill? In case someone want to rob mi, I want to be able to use deadly force to defend my property.

I bet these innocent victims of three violent home invasions agree with you.

A man and a woman, both from Toronto, are each facing several charges following a series of violent home invasion robberies in Scarborough.

The incidents all happened on Friday, May 27, at about 2:30 a.m., in the Cliffcrest area, near Kingston and McCowan roads.

According to Toronto police, the suspects attended a residential unit and broke through the door.
The male suspect then reportedly produced a knife and demanded the occupant hand over cash. He allegedly slashed a male resident when he refused to comply.

Both suspects then fled to the unit next door, police said.

This time, they allegedly knocked on the door and forced their way inside.
Police said the male suspect once again demanded cash and threatened the victim with a knife. A struggle ensued, which resulted in the victim suffering cuts to his arm.

Police said in the end cash was provided to the suspects, who fled to a third unit.

They then knocked and forced their way into a third unit, police said.

Once again, the male suspect pulled a knife and demanded cash. When the victim refused, the male suspect allegedly stabbed him in the chest

Both suspects then fled the building.
Officers from 43 Division rushed to the scene, and located and arrested Derek Prempeh, 29, and Tonya Hambly, 38.

The accused are each facing three counts of robbery with a weapon and assault with a weapon, while Prempeh is facing three additional counts of fail to comply.

Note: which means he’s already on bail or probation for previous offences, likely involving a weapon

Because in a robbery, property can be replaced. Do you really think killing someone is an appropriate way to deal with someone trying to grab a TV that your insurance will replace?

Wow, I like the way you seem to know everything about everything.
What are you doing on a hooker review board?
Shouldn't a genius like you be a politician so you can help your fellow people.
Maybe you should start a company and be the next Elon Musk.

Glad to know you're a fan but don't expect me to sign autographs.

And yes, the term paranoia accurately describes someone who thinks there is a large threat when actual evidence says otherwise.

So, what you are actually saying that today's liberals are not actually liberals but communists. You know, communism is about society and not individuals.
?????????
Nice try. See a statement saying people don't stick religiously to someone else's dogma and instead claim it's a different dogma.

This isn't your grandaddy's Canada bruh.

Shootings, car jackings... have you been asleep for the past 10 years?

Yeah, a car can be replaced with insurance, but if someone is willing to carjack me at gun point or break into my home, I think it's entirely reasonable for me to blow his fucking head off with my own gun.

Why not? Break into someone's home, all bets are off. What intruders do for shits and giggles should be answerable to what the recipient of such larks chose to dish out.

That's true. If you think of a generation as 20-25 years, then "your granddaddy's Canada" (40-50 years ago) had a higher crime rate by quite a bit, I think.
Using your definition of a generation - so more guns than ever before and less crime. Good stuff and thanks for your support.

You are easy to figure out. You are a teacher or retired teacher. Can't do so you teach.
You have had no positive influence on anybody because you teach a subject nobody cares about.
You have no skill anybody other than the government would pay you for.
You have nobody in your life because you are an arrogant asshole.

You add nothing to society. You are a leech on the public purse.
You have never created any wealth for society but you think you can make up for it by influencing people on a hooker review board.

You are pathetic and nobody in your life listens to you or respects you. You try to feel better about yourself by "correcting" everybody's opinion without offering an opinion of your own on this subject.

You will remain a small mentally challenged individual because you can't open your mind to other people's opinions.

You don't have to worry about getting car jacked or assaulted in a home invasion because you are in your mother's basement and they would have to get thru her to get to you and let's face it, she's 10 times tougher than you will ever be.

Are there more guns in Canada than ever?
Real question, I have no idea if gun ownership has gone up or down.

Paranoia. Toronto is far from the most dangerous cities in Canada.

And as I said before, if a guy points a gun at you through your car window, a gun in your glove compartment or even a holster doesn't mean shit (except making you think you actually have a chance to draw, aim, and shoot before they pull the trigger.

p.s. Do you sit at home worried about someone breaking in?

There is something called laws (and morals). Thankfully Canada doesn't implement the castle doctrine or stand your ground like the US.

If theft is deserving of death, I wonder if our macho-men also think that applies to white collar crime.

There have been many cases where Black people were shot to death by whites. They were acquitted because of the stand your ground law, even though the black people were not committing a crime.

Also, there was a Japanese man who was shot to death while trick-or-treating. The jury acquitted the shooter because the man was on his property.

It seems like the stand your ground law can be abused and anybody who is on your property can be shot to death, people like salesman or even delivery people.

Wow. For some reason, my screen says these were ROBERIES, not home invasion MURDER attempts.
??? The MSM headlines called them home invasions. The three separate victims were slashed at and/or stabbed ffs. What more do you want lol.

Have you rewritten the definition of “home invasion” that it must result in MURDER to be deemed so?

HOME INVASION just means the perpetrator(s) entered the dwelling while the inhabitants are home.

I think you’re stuck in the olden days when five masked, black-clad triad gang members targeted wealthy victims, tied them up, pistol whipped them, then beat and/or killed them.

Welcome to the 21st century where home invasion is defined as a home robbery when the inhabitants are AT HOME, which of course has a much higher incidence of violence for obvious reasons.

And trust me, if you (or someone you love) ever wake up in the night with a feeling of cold dread that someone’s IN YOUR HOUSE, you’ll wish you were able to defend yourself.
