At what age should a person be able to decide on their own whether they should transition?
At the age when they no longer consider transition to an imaginary character or a poodle.

When out of argument, go after the poster. Bye
Ya sure...that's it...all you do is attempt to annoy and irritate with your comments...trying to impersonate Marjorie, Trump, Gaetz and these other far right figures doesn't earn respect.

So 12 or 13?
Why is it so difficult to arrive at a proper age for young people to make an informed decision? We do that with voting, alcohol, driving, etc.

Yes, why is it so difficult for you to come up with a number?

No, but you could make a case for the people who are pushing this insanity.
I've never heard of anyone pushing anything except the narrow minded far right idiots who think this condition can be solved by demonizing, ignoring, or forced conditioning.

ROTFLMFAO!!!! Because I'm not qualified...and neither are the children. My mother, on the other hand, who is a shrink with the specialization in child psychology and with a life long experience is horrified with the "child abuse"- her words not mine as are great many professionals in the field. Take the politics out of this and think of the welfare of the children for crying out loud!

Neither are you. These kids go threw a very long process of psychological and physical therapy before any decision is made. You have no idea the amount of suffering a person goes threw living like they do. The suicide rate are these people is huge. These people have the right to live their lives as they should and we as a society have an obligation to look after them just like anybody else
You definitely are not!! When we have the society trying to help those living to be drugs addicts and having other mental issues, then why on earth should such transgenders who have concerns about their gender identities be pushed towards the fringe, especially as they are very kids who need all sorts of help? Do you not think that those who are not transgenders that are getting all sorts of psychotherapy for mental illness should do so, but not the young transgenders that will probably going through physical and mental abuse from other children who will be poking fun at their appearances etc?

First off I never said I was any kind of an expert, but I do have some experiance with this.
Second these kids are not pushed anywhere to do anything.
Third anyone with any kind of mental illness should get care. This is not an illness it's a mistake of nature that thankfully we can correct.
Fourth, if we teach our young tolerance and understanding instead of demonizing and hostility toward people who are different this world would be a better place for everyone and no place for ignorance and intolerance or politicians who use these issues to get a few sound bites

Judging by your posts and your mother's comment, your mother isn't an expert either. She sounds a bit more like the religious types who argue for conversion therapy.

Calling it a mistake of nature that we can 'correct' doesn't sound like tolerance to me.
