This is going to cost the taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars to buy back guns legally owned by law abiding gun owners. Of coarse the criminals will not sell their guns to the government so it kind of defeats the purpose.
Yes there will be a cost. I believe that saving lives is worth the cost. You other argument and that most often made by opponents is entirely fatuous. No one thinks that common sense gun laws will eliminate all gun violence and death. it will reduce gun violence and deaths for sure and that is worth it.

Outside of disease, firearms are the second-largest cause of death worldwide after road accidents.

Are you
seriously suggesting that all of those deaths are from criminals etc.

This will do nothing to curb gun violence. It's the illegal guns that are the issue. Legal gun owners take their responsibility very seriously.
Not at all. There will always be criminals and they will always get guns. Most gun violence and death is not perpetrated by criminals.

And in Chicago they hold mass shooting parties every single weekend. How this applies to Canada and the Canadian realities, I know not. Of course I'm not you.

Criminals aren't the ones commiting crimes? This is a new low for Liberal mental gymnastics.

Frederick Douglass once said, "A man's right
rests in three boxes. The ballot box, the jury box and the cartridge box."

That’s enough for me.

Anyone who puts their safety and security in the hands of a politician or government, doesn’t understand why we have our freedoms to begin with.

Good. No reason for hand guns under Canadian law other than target shooting. Won't solve gun violence from criminals but it will partially reduce the number of guns out there. And the buyback is voluntary.

But I'm sure someone will rant about our 'freedoms'.
Licensed weapons are not used in crimes. Just stripping more people out of jobs..

Could you explain your thoughts on your comment above. Seriously, not trolling you. I'm just interested in how they are connected.

Have you ever actually looked at those pesky things called statistics or facts? Did any of the shooters in the recent mass shootings have illegal guns?

Canada
Canada doesn't have the 2nd amendment. The NRA will shit their diapers. Let's keep making new gun laws.

Depends on which definition of "mass shooting" you're using to suit your agenda. I'll wager it's the one that excludes certain shootings because those statistics are "racist".

Your guess would be wrong. the definition of mass shooting is any shooting in which 4 or more people are shot whether or not any dies. It has nothing to do with race, gender, political affiliation, sexual orientation or anything else.
