Yes, its feasible to have armed guards at every door, in every school in the US. Hire veterans. They are experienced, fearless and will defend children and teachers. T

Not sure why you took offense at my comment
I did not suggest arming teachers,
I said "guards"
and mentioned veterans as in "retired military"
I took no offense at your comment. My post was aimed at those who suggest arming minimally trained civilian teachers and other civilian school staff as a way to protect schools. Trained armed guards, especially those with police and military experience, could be effective, if there are sufficient funds to hire them at all schools.

I'm not sure if there is any reliable way to identify which schools are most at risk for shootings, so most schools would have to be protected.

I apologize for any ambiguity in my previous post.

And today's headline:

‘No Way To Prevent This,’ Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens
UVALDE, TX—In the hours following a violent rampage in Texas in which a lone attacker killed at least 21 individuals and injured several others, citizens living in the only country where this kind of mass killing routinely occurs reportedly…

Sure, make schools pay for old people with their own AR-15's to patrol schools.
So cheap and clearly so much better then getting rid of guns.

But hey, this was school shooting #27 for this year alone.
The problem is the US will never get rid of every citizen's Second Amendment right to own a gun, or even restrict any gun, with the exception of fully automatic assault rifles.

Boldies aren't even cold yet and people are already dancing on their graves

All the laws in place didnt prevent this, but just give em power to create more laws and they'll fix it
...
I could suggest a couple laws that would significantly cut the chances of this no matter how many excuses people want to make to have multiple bang bang sticks.

What's more realistic; hardening the targets or passing an amendment to the constitution?
The first would be extremely paranoid, intrusive, and expensive. The other would just be politically inconvenient for politicians who get big donations from the gun industry.

But I guess heavily armed police at every door portrays the right image for the GOP's America (and they can shoot anyone in the school who hints at systemic racism or there are gay people).

Millions of Americans own an AR-15. They have a wide variety of uses - competitive shooting, self defense, hunting. If used and maintained properly, they are safe, reliable and effective. And 99.999% of them are never involved in a mass shooting.
Why the obsession with the AR? So many better hunting rifles. Bolt actions have been over and over again shown to be more accurate and the lightweight round of the AR is less likely to put a large animal down quickly.

Of course the AR is the base platform of the M16 and with the right accessories you too can pretend to be an actual soldier too.

Its been done here in Toronto. And it was pretty effective until the activists starting complaining to the TPSB.
In terms of effectiveness, how much did the number of the mass school shootings in Toronto schools drop?

Arming teachers who are not properly trained is probably not a good idea, but what's wrong with having a police officer or two in each school ?
With they be carrying a semi-auto rifle and wear body armour all day to be able to challenge these mass shooters?

Sounds like this guy was challenged by the cops at the school when he first got there but still managed to butcher a class full of kids.

Sounds like he outgunned the cops who probably just had pistols.
