Barry Trotz was fired by the Islanders. Why would anyone with the right mind would quit a championship team to join a constant playoff losing team?

Who do you think Trotz would say is closer to a Cup - Vegas or Toronto?I think Trotz is going to Vegas.
Probably us. The main reason being Vegas could have to go through the Avalanche powerhouse that will just get better with time. Plus if he were to ever succeed in bringing a Cup (or even a finals appearance) to Toronto he'd be treated like a God.Who do you think Trotz would say is closer to a Cup - Vegas or Toronto?
Thanks for letting me know. Why would we want a coach fired by another team. If he is not good enough for the Islanders, he would not be better than Keefe.Barry Trotz was fired by the Islanders.

I stopped drinking the kool aid in September 2019.Just saw on cp24 that Shanny is keeping Dumbass and Keefe and not making any changes for the sake of making a change.
Wow, hard to believe they are that stupid but then again we are the stupid ones for following this organization.
Going by playoff success, Vegas. Toronto isn't getting rid of Keefe so Trotz is off the table for the Leafs.Who do you think Trotz would say is closer to a Cup - Vegas or Toronto?
I questioned some of Keefe’s decisions but I do not think he was outcoached to the extent that led to the loss. Rather, I’d point the finger at some of the players’ performance as the proximate cause of this year’s downfall, Kertfoot and Tavares come to mind. There was also a general lack of determination to lock down on defence. My eye test tells me that the Lightning players were a lot more willing to block shots.
Kertfoot’s screwups led directly to the game 6 loss, without which I have no doubt that the Leafs would have closed out the series. Tavares was very good in the same game but he offered no meaningful contributions in the other games. The Lightning were ready to be had, but with Tavares being a non factor, the Leafs would not get past either Carolina or Florida even if they beat Tampa.
Whenever Tavares leadership was questioned, his defenders would say only his teammates would know and we fans not in the locker room could not be the judge; well in this series we saw no leadership from him on ice. He showed no emotions and Spezza had to do all the pep talks that a captain was supposed to do, even to Tavares himself during games. He showed no emotions and did not lead by performance either. We’re definitely not getting a fair return on a 11million player.
I don’t know what Keefe could have done to outcoach Cooper. The one criticism I’d lay on him would be that he didn’t mentally prepare his players or have the right players to start game 4, but then again it was more the players’ fault than anything.
The bigger concern I have for next season is on the three aging veterans, Tavares, Muzzin and Brodie. They’ll be one year older and slower when next season starts. No less than 10 players who played in this series will need new deals including Campbell and Lyubrushkin.
Shanahan made one big mistake and that was to entrust the future of this franchise to Dubas who was still learning on the job. Allegedly there were other clubs which were also seeking his services and that pressured Shanahan to hand the job to him. I could see the logic for a rebuilding club to want Dubas as there’d be room for him to grow with the team, but for the Leafs who had championship aspirations it was an unwise move to hire an apprentice to build a contender.
Matthews has only two years left on his deal thanks to Dubas’ shortsightedness. Tavares contract is looking more and more like a burden for remaining years. Dubas’ other acquisitions and draft picks have added minimal improvements. Cap space is limited. By this time next year, Shanahan will be making the same exit speech as he had made the past few years, assuming he’ll still be here to do so.
I agree. A team ready to win should not have been led by a rookie GM.Shanahan made one big mistake and that was to entrust the future of this franchise to Dubas who was still learning on the job. It looks like some other Leaf fans have also stopped drinking the kool aid (as I did in September 2019).I agree. A team ready to win should not have been led by a rookie GM.
