Kellogg's has launched a legal challenge with the aim to counter new rules in the UK, which are a part of a campaign against obesity.

In the initiative, the government is looking to keep a check on the sugary foods in shops in the country.

Making announcement about the judicial review, the US company, in a statement on Wednesday, said that the government has only calculated the salt, fat and sugar content of cereals when taken dry and not while being eaten with milk.

I think what they are trying to do is put on the box the real quantity of fat/sugar when you eat a regular portion when milk is added. To let people know their real consumption.

Because people are like ho I can have this bowl of sugary cereal before bed as it's only 300 calories.... Not counting the 200 calories of milk they pour in....

I have always seen both the cereal contents and cereal with 1 cup of 2% milk contents. Maybe it is different over there.

Why would Kellogg want eating a bowl of cereal with milk to look even worse nutritionally?

I think they want the cereal portion of cereal with milk to look smaller percentage wise of the overall meal. It still seems like a very weak argument.

They do have fatter milk in general. I have seen 4.5% and higher in the netherland. But you can find skim milk as well. The big difference is their pasteurization to avoids the milk to be refrigerated. That's actually the biggest upset you see there as an american... The milk is on the tablets at the supermarket!
