MTG is not the fringe. She is mainstream. Her and Madison Crawford and Lauren Boebert. They are the ones steering the ship. If you don't think so, look at the apparent power Trump still commands. Kevin McCarthy is lying to people straight up that he was demanding Trump resign after Jan. 6th.
Referring to an early post, let's look at the big GOP priority: tax cuts. You know, there is a shocking case study in America that shows how this one trick pony plays out:
The Kansas Experiment. Here is the cliff notes version: GOP governor signs bill drastically slashing income tax on businesses and individuals. It was supported by supply-sides economists and many conservative think tanks. The bill say about $231M cut in the first year, and was projected to cut nearly a billion ($934M) annually by the sixth year. The idea was the tax cuts would see businesses re-invest in their companies, create jobs and be a shot of adrenaline to the state's economy.
So, what happened? By 2017, Kansas saw its credit rating slashed, it nearly defaulted on loan payments, and it was forced to dig into its reserve fund which caused it to delay critical infrastructure projects and deep cuts to Medicade and the state's education system. Kansas, shockingly, was lagging behind the economies of every state is bordered, and the job creation goals were never met. Eventually, the state repealed the tax cuts.
Now, here is the interesting thing....despite nearly everyone calling this a failure (which it sure as fuck was), Trump included many of its concepts in his 2017 tax cut bill, which helped to send the federal deficit even higher. So, basically, the GOP pushes a failed tax plan all the time, but it just ends up fucking the overall economy. I mean, yeah, it's good for high net-networth individuals, but the middle and lower class get crushed.
