Don’t fall for their pathetic SN360 “sports betting”.
The house always wins.

Lemieux was flashier, that's it. He also was not as classy as the 3 that I mentioned.
Lemieux was a great player. It’s tough to compare because the Oilers were stacked.

The thing is though, Wayne did it.

I try not to say “best ever” at this or that, because there are so many factors. I just put you in a category. Average. Good. Great. and Master Class.

However…. Howe may have been the best. His game was all around. He scored a fuck ton of goals… he knocked out a fuck ton of teeth. 🤷🏻

Gretzky never shied away from being a promoter of the game, even if there was nothing in it for him. He always did it with humility and class. Lemieux never seemed to want to do much promoting the game. At first the excuse was his limited ability to speak English, but he had plenty of opportunity and money to address that.

I had no idea…
Evidently, it was 2 separate incidents.

Gordie beat him to a pulp, but the broken neck happened later.

Lou Fontinato was a rugged defender and the most feared enforcer of his time. He started his career with New York during the 1954-55 season. The following year, he led the NHL in penalty minutes. Fontinato became the first player in league history to record over 200 minutes in penalties in a season.[2] He also led the league in that category in 1957-58 and 1961–62 (with Montreal). With the Rangers, Fontinato and Gordie Howe had a running feud that culminated in a fight at Madison Square Garden on February 1, 1959, in which Howe broke the nose and dislocated the jaw of "Leapin' Lou".[3] Fontinato was eventually traded to the Montreal Canadiens for Hall-of-Fame great Doug Harvey at the tail-end of his career. Fontinato's career came to an abrupt and violent end in 1963 at the Montreal Forum when he missed a check on left-winger Vic Hadfield of the Rangers behind the Montreal net, slammed head first into the boards, and became paralyzed for a month.[4]

I know, what is Keefe getting all worked up about, benching him, moving him down the lineup, ripping him publicly?
Doesn't he realize he may end up with 75-80 points?
Plus/minus worst of all forwards. His defensive play is lazy.

Did everybody like the plug Mr Self-righteous gave the Kitchener AAA Girls team coached by Jeff Sittler on the post game show following the Leafs game…great longtime rivalry, Toronto wins 3-2, Auston Matthews gets two more, but that idiot mentions something that no one gives a fuck about to open.

He clearly forgot we're the centre of the known universe, and all of hockey revolves around The Leafs.
It's interesting they never have that problem on TSN.

It's 51 goals in Matthews' last 50 games played. The NHL recognizes 50 in 50 in the team's first 50 games, which is really a technicality but whatever. Matthews could've had 4 goals but the special honor during the TV timeout threw him off, Matthews was truly humbled and kind of slowed down the rest of the game.

TB has lost 4 in a row and winners of only 4 of their last 10. They may be tanking to avoid playing anyone in the Atlantic Division in the first round. Leafs now have the same point total as Carolina. 72 games 100 pts. Last game of the season for Leafs is vs Boston. Their likely first round opponent. Boston is 8 wins in their last 10 games.

Tanking to play an easier team in the other division, so such thing. Every team in the east is tough, even if the NHL did it 1-8 seeds.

Obviously not outright tanking. Playoffs is all about the matchups. It's either Hurricanes/Rangers or Leafs/Boston for them.
In the East the margins are small indeed. There's really no need for them to push it. They'll crank it up once the playoff starts.
They didn't need Kucherov for the regular season but certainly needed him for the playoffs.

Suggesting that the Tampa Bay Lightning would "tank" in hopes of facing Carolina instead of the Leafs or Boston is an opinion you'd only get from a Leafs fan.
Think about it a minute.
Luke Fox with Sportsnet would probably write that into his column, but that's more to my point....
