I think the flatbed he collided with was laden with replacement street car rails. The back end of flat beds have a bumper basically to feel when getting to a loading dock, not really to stop speeding vehicles.
So the top of the SUV would have been sliced or squashed very quickly, along with the driver.
Which in this case is a shame.
I would have preferred he be pinned, and the EMS could them take several hours to get him out.
Only to have him go from cardiac arrest when they pry the steering wheel out of his chest, or have him go from severe upper chest/ abdominal hematoma
