I was out with my best friend tonight
and hes a baby boomer he says hes almost finished on earth
cause he has a few health issues
then it dawned on me wow baby boomers soon will be gone
then its generation X which is my generation
we were also discussing how the millinials and younger ones
world rotates around computers and digital
how they dont use services the baby boomers use
because of all the apps and easy access
so the feed new technology businesses the young ones
and not so much old school

what's your opinion on this ?

No IG. No Facebook. No twitter. No tiktok. No mobile banking ever. No uber.
I use Amazon to check prices. Then I make my purchases at local WalMart, Best Buy, Home Depot, Petsmart, etc. where there are attendants to assist. Prices are almost same as Amazon. Support local not the jerk Jeff Bezos.
Sobeys, Farm Boy, etc. all close by. In person shopping.
Car paid off. No loans of any kind. Always pay off my visa at the end of the month.
Good investments. Can afford the hottest babes. I am an unrepentant Baby Boomer :)

I'm a Millennial, but I'm no to all that too, except the mobile banking thing. Social media is mostly a disease. Too easy for algorithms to spoon feed you exactly what you want to hear, and to get trapped in echo chambers.
Though the mobile banking thing gets me; the banks pushed hard towards online banking in a supposed effort to be environmentally friendly, with less paperwork. But all they did was replace the paper statements with paper promotions instead that I throw out every month.

Everyone is slowly decaying.
Your Snowflake Generation plans to speed up this process to avoid wiping the asses the preceded them.

Well, almost gone, - really? youngest baby boomer is now 58 - I would say they have 25 years left, not what I call "almost gone".

I'm Gen X. Though pretty close to the tail end of the boom truth be told.

Gen X'ers are a lot like Baby Boomers. We were the generation they coined the term "YUPPIE" for. Boomers and X'ers both share the same work ethic and get the job done attitude. We figured out a long time ago that if you want to succeed in this world, you need to work your ass off and keep a stiff upper lip. Some millennials definitely share that work ethic. But I think what intimidates Gen Z and a lot of millennials most about boomers is that they don't like the idea (or the expectation) that they will need to pay their dues by working hard like they see boomers and x'ers doing. It scares the shit out of them. Boomers and Gen X just accept that as part of life and get on with it. We weren't raised with the notion of everybody gets a ribbon.

I will tell you this much though, I work with several guys in their late 60's and 70's and these guys are at the top of their game. They are sharp, they know their shit. I definitely rely on their expertise and experience and knowledge in my industry. It will be a sad fucking day in this world when they retire.

The boom lasted until 1966 in Canada. An extra year or two compared to the U.S.
It peaked around the late 1950s and early 1960s as new immigrants from Europe(mostly Italians and Polish I believe)coming in the 1950s had kids.
Slim pickings for men born at the end of the boom for jobs and women.

Gen X'er here. I think we're becoming too co-dependent on tech, and it is not a good thing.
There are other skills that are slowly becoming eroded.

The new generation won't notice it until it is too late.
Gen Xer's might be able to salvage some of this from the Boomers.
But, even with that, the damage is already done.
L.D.

I've noticed that Late Boomers are loyal to their early influences, The Hilarious House of Frightenstein has an 8.2 rating on IMDB. That's as good as Schitt's Creek.

I'm a late Boomer, this is my belief system. I'm not ready for that Blood Sweat and Tears song yet.

No future generation will have it as easy as the baby boomers.

They could afford a house, car, kids, sending kids to university.... on a single middle class salary.

Yet they are still at the head of most government dictating policies that still enrich them like crazy.

They are mostly racist as fuck, rich as fuck and still thinks all other generations are snowflake pussies.

Fuck the boomers ;)

Don't forget that while they drain the government pensions, they are going to leave a shit-pile of debt for you to pay.

We are all responsible for debt. CPP, the government pension plan, pays peanuts. Several of us have work related pensions and/or started RRSP contributions very early in our careers.
