Leafs have the most regulation wins in the division at 35, the first tiebreaker in the standings over goal differential.
I'm seriously not interested in arguing, but here's my overall take:
Leafs slowed the Panthers game down effectively. Leafs power play worked.
Panthers were playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, including playing last night.
Leafs were playing their 3rd game in 8 nights, including playing last night.
Panthers played their 20 year old backup goaltender.
Does this indicate how a 7 game series would go? Sportsnet and TSN would say "most definitely" - but most of us aren't financially invested in saying that.
Since February 3rd when the league changed their covid testing protocol and teams are no longer scratching 5 to 7 healthy players from their roster each game:
the Leafs are 12 wins, 11 losses.
- 14 of those 23 games have been against teams not in a playoff position.

In context, no it didn't demonstrate categorically that some significant positive change is/has occurred that would in turn inspire a greater level of confidence for playoff success.
Well it shows you that a goalie can steal a game and any team in this league can beat another on a given night.
My feelings are that the Leafs beat the Habs 9 out of 10 they play them at present.
True. But I’m starting to question him as captain. Too low keyed in my opinion.
Matthews would’ve been it if he’d have been able to keep his pants up lol.
But Reilly is my pick. Met him and the team at events off-rink and he’s always stood out as the leader of the pack.
There is something to sleeper games. Even a game in montreal on a saturday is hard to get up for when they are not that good and you're playing the best team the next night. The boston game might be the best indicator. They could win the east or lose first round. I think they've had their fill of nylander though, he will be somewhere else next year, maybe arizona or seattle?
Well said. And regarding Nylander, I am just not seeing any kind of sincere, consistent effort or hustle on his part. When I watch him, Iggy Pop’s tune comes to mind- “I am a passenger”! A real shame for someone with his abundant talent.
