Chris Rock isn't that upset about it...he took a slap, wasn't hurt, and has moved on.
Does he really have any alternatives?

BTW - just because he declines to file a report doesn't necessarily mean LAPD won't independently decide to lay charges. They and the DA's office will be under a lot of pressure to act on this in some meaningful way in the coming days.

I have to go back and find it but I watched the RTT after she shaved her head. Her daughter did it with her as support and her mother already had it shaved IIRC.

I am almost positive there was a GIJane joke in that segment that those three women did. I have to find it. If that is the case, the Smiths lost even more respect in my opinion.
Smith was laughing at the joke. It was only when his wife rolled her eyes at the joke that he took action.

They could but they didn't...if Chris Rock doesn't cooperate, chances of charges are slim.

Not a chance it was fake. Not sure what you watched...or smoked for that matter.

Clearly is was real, and one of the most awkward moments in T.V history.
If It was real, I don't think Chris Rock would be still standing, nor would he be responding so quickly. I didn't realize that men in California slapped each other when they are angry. It did look like Will Smith was serious when he yelled at Chris Rock from his seat.

Chris Rock won't press charges because now if he chooses he has a nice bit to develop for his next tour. And it completely gives him the "upper hand" now.

Will and I think moreso Jada will pay hard in the court of public opinion. And that pic and video with become a meme forever.

Seems that practically every year whomever happens to be hosting the Oscars says something that offends someone.

I remember one year Seth MacFarlane cracked a joke about Abraham Lincoln getting shot, and the entire crowd pretty much collectively shit its pants all at once. Ridiculous. Seth's response was something like, "Oh, that only happened 150 years ago. Too soon?"

Maybe the Academy Awards organizers should just let Angela Lansbury host Oscar Night from now on if that don't want envelopes pushed.

Like I said before, this was a classic case of a lady goading her guy into the old game of "Let's you and him fight!"

You can't "both sides" this. You have a shit take.
Lol you seem super angry with your shit, slut and simp talk. They are both wrong imho. I just feel that there is a bigger story that needed to be explain and yes compassion is needed, at least to me. I feel like it's time to agree to disagree. =)

Part of me wonders it this whole controversy was concocted to boost ratings. These awards shows have bled viewers the past few years. They needed a controversy like this.
If it was indeed genuine then I have to say this is a result of woke culture. Can't nobody take a joke anymore.
But I think its safe to say we won't be seeing Will Smith at a celebrity roast any time soon.

It's not the first time Will Smith has made an ass clown of himself, he first did that when he portrayed Muhammad Ali.

He didn't deserve to win Best Actor....he no King. Apparently as he was screaming at Chris Rock, Denzel leaned in and told him to cool it. I put it to all of you, isn't Denzel Washington the epitome of cool, he should have won Best Actor.

Yip, Suck it up Will Smith. Many other celebrities past and present get joked on and u don't see them smacking the host. Also Will Smith's acceptance and apology speech was confusing and a total embarrassment. It look like the William sisters weren't at all thrilled.
