Wasn't this the song written by Rod Stewart? and this group is not The Chiffons known for He's So Fine and One Fine Day and other great songs, right?
Rod's was a totally different song. This was a cover of The Shirelles song.

The California Chiffons were a totally different group than the Chiffons from NYC, who did One Fine Day, etc.

I have this song by Neko Case. I never knew that it was a cover.

Awesome thread and thanks, but I gotta nitpick a bit. How do the solos artists qualify as "girl groups"?

None the less, keep 'em coming.
For whatever reason most of those songs by the solo named artists were included in my "girl group collection" cd's. And usually had female backup singers.

I agree it's a fine point, but decided if I liked the song it was worth including, as there is no other existing appropriate terb thread for them.

I'm glad you and a few others enjoyed the posts. I didn't expect it to appeal to more than a few members, given how long ago the songs were popular, but I had fun going down memory lane as I listened to them again while posting. I'm amazed that 95+% of the songs on my personal list were available on YouTube.

That's probably it for me for the time being...
