You were backing a complete blockade before there was an invasion? I must have missed your posts on that.
If there is an invasion. I posted the exact same thing when Putin attacked Crimea, all those years ago. That is the only way to cool Russia and remove Putin from power.

Can't remember the whole thing but just to be annoying, my brother was quoting a ditty about the "drip drip drip of a syphilitic prick of a British grenadier."
Putin being a syphilitic little prick should have a song written about him with those words.

A new Harvard Center for American Political Studies (CAPS)-Harris Poll survey (conducted between Feb. 23 and Feb. 24 with 2,026 registered voters) released exclusively to The Hill on Friday found that 62% of those polled believed Putin would not be moving against Ukraine if Trump had been president.

The partisan breakdown is even more striking:

85% of Republicans think Putin wouldn’t have invaded if Trump had been president and 38% of Democrats also believed it.
A majority of Americans polled - 59% - also said they believed that the Russian president moved on Ukraine because Putin saw weakness in President Biden.

You lived in that part of the world so maybe you have a greater perspective but based on my understanding of Putin's control, the only way to do that would be either enough of his henchmen get together and secretly plot a coup or there's an assassination. A western invasion and 'regime change' was never even close to a possibility and Putin doesn't seem the type to care about a widespread popular protest.

Speaking of propaganda...

BTW. Wasn't it Trump who refused to sell Ukraine weapons because they wouldn't go along with the ridiculous Hunter Biden investigation? Those weapons would be useful right now.

The "sale: went through. You're confusing Trump with Obama. Obama sent blankets. They're probably very useful right now against the grad rockets.

The propaganda is only the spin.
Notice that the question didn't ask "why".
It would be rank idiocy to think that this meant 62% of people think Trump was stronger or that Biden is weak or anything like that.
(It's like when they ask "Do you think America is headed in the right direction?" - without knowing why people answer yes or no, you aren't actually saying much.)

All this poll means is that most people think Putin would not have done this if Trump was still in charge.
I happen to agree. This would not have gone down the same way.

I asked jc the question and he didn't answer. How 'should' Biden have handled this?
He should.have done things like DJT would have done things. Those things are secret for secret reasons but he should have done things and things would have got done.

Clearly if only Biden was stronger in his praise for Putin like rump this never would have happened.

Seriously Trump?? WOW!!

Trump on Tuesday called Russia's recognition of two breakaway territories in eastern Ukraine a "genius" move ahead of its military invasion.

In an interview on "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show," Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin's recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics in eastern Ukraine on Monday was "smart" and "pretty savvy."

"I went in yesterday, and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius,'" he said. "Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful."
"I said, 'How smart is that?' He's going to go in and be a peacekeeper,"
added Trump, who regularly praised and sought close ties with Putin during his time in office. "That's the strongest peace force. We could use that on our southern border. That's the strongest peace force I've ever seen. There were more army tanks than I've ever seen. They're going to keep peace, all right."
Following his recognition of the two Donbas areas, which are controlled by Russian-backed separatists, Putin moved in troops, which led to international condemnation.
President Biden called the troop movement "the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine" and slapped Moscow with multiple sanctions on Tuesday.
“If Russia goes further with this invasion, we stand prepared to go further as with sanctions,” Biden said.
In his interview, Trump repeated his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him and said if he had remained president, Putin would never have attempted something like this.
"It never would have happened with us. Had I been in office, not even thinkable," Trump said. "You know what the response was from Biden? He didn't have a response."
The former president, who has been teasing a 2024 presidential run, also released a statement on Tuesday arguing that "there was absolutely no reason that the situation currently happening in Ukraine should have happened at all."
"Russia has become very very rich during the Biden Administration, with oil prices doubling and soon to be tripling and quadrupling," he said. "The weak sanctions are insignificant relative to taking over a country and a massive piece of strategically located land."

Now can anyone justify Trump's above statements??

Yes…. Such a great peace keeping mission. I guess now we finally realize the “peace” Trump wanted with Mexicans on his Southern boarder.
