The US just lost a 20 yr war to dudes in flip flops. What makes the US think this time around they will do any better? Take a few years off, guys.
Not a 20 war. They didn't actually lose. They cleared the country of VC and brought North Vietnam to the peace table.
After they left, they just couldn't be bothered with round 2, when North Vietnam did launch it's final invasion they tested the waters to make sure the US wouldn't get involved.
Saigon fell to NVA tanks, the dudes in flip flops were pretty much wiped out by then.
Objection withdrawn then. I guess they wore sandals also.
I could quibble with the lost comment on that one.
This old hobbit showed up at the local Tavern and insulted this Ogre. The Ogre beat the crap out of him and tossed him out.
Next day and each day after the same thing kept happening. After a month of this the hobbit was in real bad shape but he kept coming in, insulting the Ogre and getting his ass brutalized in a no homo way. Eventually the Ogre said to himself, fuck this, I'll go to the pub across the street.
Yes, the hobbit won, but it is a bit questionable to say the Ogre "lost", it just wasn't worth it.
Semantics to be sure and I couldn't object too much with your view of things.
Also at one point the Ogre asked the barkeep about the hobbit and the barkeep said, well you know, old hobbits are hard to kill. [hobbit/habits]
