Seriously Trump?? WOW!!

Trump on Tuesday called Russia's recognition of two breakaway territories in eastern Ukraine a "genius" move ahead of its military invasion.

In an interview on "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show," Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin's recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics in eastern Ukraine on Monday was "smart" and "pretty savvy."

"I went in yesterday, and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius,'" he said. "Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful."
"I said, 'How smart is that?' He's going to go in and be a peacekeeper,"
added Trump, who regularly praised and sought close ties with Putin during his time in office. "That's the strongest peace force. We could use that on our southern border. That's the strongest peace force I've ever seen. There were more army tanks than I've ever seen. They're going to keep peace, all right."
Following his recognition of the two Donbas areas, which are controlled by Russian-backed separatists, Putin moved in troops, which led to international condemnation.
President Biden called the troop movement "the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine" and slapped Moscow with multiple sanctions on Tuesday.
“If Russia goes further with this invasion, we stand prepared to go further as with sanctions,” Biden said.
In his interview, Trump repeated his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him and said if he had remained president, Putin would never have attempted something like this.
"It never would have happened with us. Had I been in office, not even thinkable," Trump said. "You know what the response was from Biden? He didn't have a response."
The former president, who has been teasing a 2024 presidential run, also released a statement on Tuesday arguing that "there was absolutely no reason that the situation currently happening in Ukraine should have happened at all."
"Russia has become very very rich during the Biden Administration, with oil prices doubling and soon to be tripling and quadrupling," he said. "The weak sanctions are insignificant relative to taking over a country and a massive piece of strategically located land."

Now can anyone justify Trump's above statements??

As long as they’re talking about their southern border and not the northern border I’m fine with that. I wish we had a damn wall.

So? Was Trump wrong? Do you think Putin's actions was stupid or genius? Of course it was a genius plan: everything is according to the letter of law, with the "desire" to protect people in DNR and LNR and who cares how people who do not like him will look at it. Like JT's decision to invoke the Emergency Act: follow the letter of the law and in the name of protecting people.

Can there be any doubt that the guy is a moron and that he and his followers have become the biggest threat to the US. it is unfathomable to me that any thinking person could support him but i guess it is a prerequisite to support that one abandon any critical though. Sad.

No. You have to look at it like fall looks at it.
People admire that he can do bad things and get away with them by working the system.
"A thinking person could support him" because they, too, want to get away with immoral actions like Trump and Putin.
Your mistake is thinking people who support him believe in the US or that he is good for the country.
Like fall is saying, the support is because they are bad and are a threat to the country but might get away with it.

A couple hours ago, you were calling Biden "weak" for not standing up to Putin...
😧 😯 🐸 :)😕
ROTFLMFAO!!! Putin pulled off a trick in the daylight with everyone looking including the "intelligence" community of the whole Western world. And they can't even respond because Putin, technically, DID NOT invade Ukraine.

I have railed against the dumbest most gullible cohort on the planet but there is a point beyond which no one could be that dumb or gullible. It is a head scratcher because i have a general belief that people are good and will ultimately do the right thing. This is now beyond anything i can comprehend.

JC, the NATO authorities are saying that he DID invade Ukraine and - technically - that's true. But Ukraine doesn't (yet) have a military alliance with NATO and no one's going to send soldiers to die for Donetsk. Not even Kiev's going to send guys.

So no "trick". Putin did something he could have done 5 years ago while sunbathing on the Black Sea. It's just that Donbas is a different kettle of fish from the rest of Ukraine.

Your posts are getting more and more scattered and are making less and less sense.

Putin could have annexed Donbas anytime in the last 7 years. Kiev couldn't stop him in 2014 and at this point, doesn't really give much of a fuck any more. The west certainly doesn't give much of a fuck.

So it's barely a plan. It's certainly not a genius plan. Putin is being annoying and will get sanctioned and it's not in Russia's long term interest to ramp up tensions with the rest of Europe. Russia just doesn't have the strength for a long economic war or military arms race. I can't see Putin is even doing this shit.

I suppose that means you also think it would be a good idea to bring in Putin's troops on the US/Mexico border.

There's a whole argument to be made about how it isn't being gullible, but a moral choice to believe these things.

I am glad you still choose to believe people will ultimately do the right thing.

LOL!!! It doesn't matter what NATO says. The reality on the ground was and for quite a few years Donbass and Luhansk were no longer a part of Ukraine. It included administrative actions such as passports (Russian) and currency (Russian) and most of the trade (with Russia). Putin was patient and did the leg work, set the conditions for entering the breakaway areas without firing a shot and took them over with the consent of the inhabitants. The "trick" was convincing that moron Biden that his objective was the wholesale invasion of Ukraine with three or four divisions(!!!). And you all fell for it while his objective was always only the Eastern Ukraine and only the parts he knew would not resist because he can't afford a big war. The move was inspired. As good the move as Germany pulled when it reclaimed the Rhineland. Did I mention that Putin was an avid student of history? And the West's response? As I predicted, limited and targeted sanctions that mean exactly fuck all in the times when the energy prices are skyrocketing.

JC, everybody knows that Donbas was no longer part of Ukraine. No one gave much of a fuck. Putin could have made this announcement 5 years ago and still no one would have given much of a fuck.

What he did by mobilizing and scaring the West is piss them off so royally that he will never be trusted again. He actually made the situation worse.
