When you factor in the extra taxes they're raking in on fuel, they can probably afford to do this. It will also save me $480.00 a year. That's for sure. And for that reason, I like it. Anyone who doesn't agree with eliminating the fee, is welcome to give the Government $120 annually for every vehicle they own. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to take your money.

Obviously election time, but I suspect that there is an insane number of drivers who haven’t updated their stickers since 2019. Renewals we’re suspended for over a year cause Covid. I have a feeling, lots of people still thought renewals was still suspended

They will not lose any income, they will put in hidden taxes and or cut spending elsewhere as they have to balance their budget.
But first they have to get re-elected and Ford is dealing election candy now. The 407 deals are another example of the pork barrel politics to keep Ford Nation engaged. Ontario Pork can be sweet and makes the best jerk pork. Ford’s base is upset with him, in some cases even livid but they will not vote NDP or Liberal.
A Liberal PM almost guarantees a PC Premier in Ontario historical for check and balances.

Seriously? That statement is laughable. As if the annual fees they collected for plate stickers had any impact on global warming. It has no bearing the type of vehicle you own or how much you drive.
